I have a suggestion.

If this list has been published, can I be directed to it please. If there is no list can TER publish the list of references, words, or phrases . On a few occasions I've had posts that do not get approved due to the following reason... "Your post references words or phrases not allowed on TER message boards"

I think it would be easier for me to follow the rules if I knew what the rules were. I feel this is just an arbitrary excuse for the moderator to stifle what I say, when the moderator disagrees with what I have to say.

...They couldn't care less about what posters have to say.  Their job is to determine whether a post conforms to TER's rules and guidelines.

For example, I could say:  "I have a suggestion - you need a brain transplant."  Certainly, no one, TER mods included, could disagree with that statement but TER could remove the post anyway if they determine it was inappropriate.

Of references, words, and phrases that are not allowed on TER message boards. That way some one myself included won't be in violation of the rules.

I'm not going to go out of my way to violate the rules, because I have no desire to be a trouble maker... and I can't recall ever complaining about a post directed to, or about me to TER I encourage that those posts stand.

I know I've complained to individual posters over what they have said to, or about me.

Since when do you speak for the moderators?

... but this is mostly about conforming to the unwritten. rules, that should be written, as not to violate them.

I simply re-read my post, make a small edit and resubmit it. 100% success rate.

I doubt a concrete list would be very useful, except to generate more argument about what should and should not be on the list.

I can envision that sometimes only context will determine whether a post is within the posting guidelines. An acceptable post in one context could be unacceptable in another. A list would not help with this.

I only have had 2 posts pulled...

One recently because my dumb butt put the wrong link to my P411 profile (lol).

The other got pulled for "being too mean". My post was a whole lot nicer than the post I was responding to! Hell, I have seen far worse posts that were allowed to stand.

I had a post get edited once. Lost a lot in translation with what was left. Wasn't a mean post at all but I guess my S&P post mentioned something it shouldn't have? Who knows.

Since I have no experience with my posts being pulled... I think it differs for everyone. I think it also depends on if people are reporting the post (once it is up).

There was a lot more direct moderating back in the day. Now some things get through until the post is reported. Of course back then there was several guys who needed moderating on everything they posted. The best part was many posts were approved when nowadays it would not.

We will never have the great train wrecks of a few years ago. Sort of miss it.

Asking, "Will you please tell me what part of my post wasn't allowed because I really can't guess"...
