(I've just revealed a well kept secret... they don't want people to know that a nasty, gorgeous, sex-crazed pornstar could actually be a techno-geek: it kind of ruins their image) - LOL
On the other hand, a lot of adult stars wouldn't even know how to open a laptop, and many have never heard of Big Doggie or TER... I'm often surprised when I ask about posting a review on BD or TER and getting a blank stare in return...

A pornstar's website, official or otherwise, doesn't guarantee that she can be contacted there. In some cases, she sells the rights to use her name, but has nothing whatsoever to do with the day to day activites of the site.
In other cases, even when it IS her site, it's often run by her husband or boyfriend, who answers her emails posing as the lady herself. Often, even if the pornstar is available for private meetings, the husband/boyfriend will claim, posing as her, that she isn't available, or in some cases the guy doesn't know she's available... she keeps him in the dark.
And in other cases, the so-called "Official" site is just the opposite... someone has co-opted her name and registered the site using a variation of the site she owns (Jodie-Moore.com as opposed to JodieMoore.com, for example).
So while Pornstar websites are a valuable source for contacting pornstars, they aren't 100% reliable.

i don't want to reinforce stereotypes (god knows this bizness has plenty), but i just DON'T see pornstars checking into their hotel rooms, taking out their notebooks/PDAs, plugging them into the dataport and login to their remote ISPs, checking their own email or hack their own website (as some claim they do)
