Well Lex, that's how the fishermen of yore used to catch sharks....

They'd drag a rope of tampoons behind the boat until a shark grabbed the hook.  It made the water safe for swimming.

I normally do not like to see women that wear fragrances. The reason is that most women overuse a fragrance to the point that the smell is a turnoff. But earlier today I met a provider that had just the right fragrance, applied to just the right level. I have been having flashbacks for the last few hours, her beautiful smell keeps invading my my mind and taking me back to my time with her today. Now I understand why a movie was made around the subject of a woman's scent - when done right a scent can be the invisible leash that keeps jerking a man back to the woman that wears it.

My ATF wears that kind of fragrance. The first tiime she came to see me I was in a knock around the house t-shirt. Of course we hugged, etc before getting undressed. Later on, when I put it on the aroma was enough stimulate a bit of wood. I loved every minute of it.

It's not always perfume. My lady just has an incredable natural scent. Sure she wears perfume and it's always great, but she just has a natural fresh scent. It's even there when she wakes up in the morning, I just breathe her in and enjoy.

There is probably an evolutionary reason for this, but hey, let's just enjoy it.  Smell is a very, very erotic sense.

Even before the sense of smell was studied scientifically, astute authors, such as Marcel Proust in "Remembrances of Things Past", were aware that smells could stimulate evocative memories.

I read a study which was done a few years ago just recently, in either Scientific American, or Cosmopolitan (I always get those two magazines confused, don't you?).

A group of men were offered a variety of scents to choose from. Scents included costly french perfume, cheap knock off scent sprays, citrus extract and vanilla extract, among one or two others. I found the results really interesting - the men consistently chose the citrus extract and the vanilla extract before they choose any of the perfume based scents.

Apparently the way to more than just a man's *heart* lies in his stomach, if the male preference for food based scents is any indication!

Mind you, it made me go out and buy some angel food scented body spray, which gives new meaning to the phrase 'you smell good enough to eat'.

I admit I enjoy perfumes, but avoid roviders who use them unless I am traveling - too much risk of wearing thescent back home or to the office - kinda suspicious if you didn't have it before lunch but come back from lunch wearing it.

I love the smell of vanilla based scents - in the house as an air freshner.  I'm not all that fond of them on a lady, though.

I only have one perfume I've ever found appealing - that's Obsession for Women.  I find it extremely arousing, but very subtle.  If she's not wearing that then I prefer she not be wearing any perfumes.

I love it when somebody I run into at work or on the street weeks later is wearing that same perfume and it brings back a lot of really great memories.

Good post, stilltryin.

a study was published in the Journal of Wildlife Management in 1991 in answer to concerns regarding black bears’ attraction to menstrual odors and subsequent attacks on female hikers. The death of two menstruating women attacked by grizzlies in Glacier National Park in 1967 apparently prompted the government to print brochures warning women to avoid bear country during periods of active menstruation. However, the examination of factors surrounding hundreds of grizzly and black bear attacks produced neither evidence that supported a causal relation between human menstruation and attacks nor revealed any published records concerning black bear responses to menstrual blood.

myth.  It was a little nasty:  (Trained scientists working with used tampons and piles of garbage with bears and the bears almost always chose to chomp down the garbage...)  They claim that this means women are safe out on the trail.

To me this doesn't mean women are safe on Safari...this means that bears are smart.

But weren't those other boys talking about perfume?!

Rosie, I remember trying to smell your neck as you kissed my cheek at that party.  You smelled like WOMAN!  GRRRrrrrr  (insert bear noises here!)

...how to catch female sharks, but what about male sharks? They certainly wouldn't need tampons.
