Snowden never had a #1 ranked team at Arizona.  The first time the school was ranked #1 in basketball was during the 1988 season under Lute Olsen when they went to the Final Four for the first time.

New Mexico and New Mexico State are two different schools!!  Get it?  Just like Michigan and Michigan State; Kansas and Kansas State,\; Penn and Penn State!  Get it?  Good

You may laugh, but I can guarantee you many east coast writers will be confused.  Hell, some folks don't even realize we're on of the fifty states.  Oh yea, and it DOES snow out here, just like it's doing now!

Rant over....have a great day!  lol

Aggies and UNM is the Lobos. And I remember Fred Snowden and his team of Eric Money, Coniel Norman, Bob Elliot and Al Fleming of UNM, and Lou Henson, Charlie Criss, Sam Lacey and Jimmy Collins of NMSU.

Fred Snowden and his boys were University of Arizona!!

I believe it was Snowden's No. 1 ranked Wildcats that got beat by Stormin' Norm Ellenberger's Lobos!

Kick his ass OD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

your memory is the second thing to go, and I can't remember what's first. (blush blush)

... but UNM, NMSU, and UTEP all in the field this year harkens back to a time when these three programs really mattered on the national scene.  Don Haskins, Lou Henson, and Bob King had one hell of a triumvirate of solid programs going in the mid 60's to late 70's (the nat'l title for the miners and an appearance in the final four for the aggies, a source of inferiority complex for us lobos fans).
