Willie was a great center fielder with blazing speed....yet he was the only player ever to make 3 errors in one World Series game.

He also won two rings and stole 3 bases in a single inning. Great memories. Thanks, 3-Dog.

I was living in L A towards the end of his career. That was a great time for the Dodgers!
I can only imagine how much he would have made if he was playing today!

I grew up a Cardinal fan and one time Dad took us all to a double header at Busch Stadium to see them play the Dodgers. Wes Parker had 4 doubles that day and Wille caught a couple of balls that there was no way humanly possible he should have been able to run down. Great memory!
RIP Willie!

Thanks, HH,
As a Dodger fan since the 50's, I remember Willie well-He was one fast dude-He played on a terrific team-we haven't had a lot to cheer about lately-I appreciate the info-While people will remember the 3 errors in one game-was it one inning? (Hell, I can't remember poop any more), Willie Davis could play for me anytime-Hate to hear he passed-Later, 1rob

Without researching it on the web, if memory serves, two of those errors were on one play when he dropped a fly ball and his throw to 3rd base was off line allowing a run to score...at least I think I remember that's what happened.
