Save a review before submission

Why not allow a reviewer to save a partially complete review before hitting the submit button? Seems like and obvious way to improve the submission process. The current process takes too long to complete and this seems like an easy way to increase the number of reviews.

It might be easier if you write a draft of your review in a Word document first that you can edit and format as you prefer at your leisure. Then simply paste it in the Juicy Details section. There are a couple of advantages to doing it this way. It avoids losing your work if you make the mistake (as I have done) of closing the review before you are finished. It also allows you to format it with paragraphs and headings which can be difficult in the form for reviews. Finally, it gives you a running word count to help you keep it within the word limitations of a review. The latter is really important to reviewers like me who tend to write detailed reviews.

I assume that your computer is password protected. In any event, it is probably a good idea to delete the draft from your documents folder when the draft is approve.

I think a safer way (than Word or other WP program) to save draft reviews when on a shared computer (not a good idea for the hobby in any case!) is to use a web email like hushmail.  The email is password protected and, for some like hushmail, encrypted.  Be sure to put your own email ID in the "To" field in case you accidentally hit "Send" instead of "Save Draft".

I use Notepad (PC) or TextEdit (Mac) instead. Microsoft Word leaves an awful lot of temporary files with snippets of your text in various places on your hard drive, and it's not very good about cleaning up after itself. If you write reviews in Word, you'll end up with sentences and paragraphs from that review in files everywhere. If you're concerned about privacy, this is a no-no.

I also like nom_de_plume's suggestion of creating a draft message in gmail or yahoo. That way, all traces of the review are kept online.
