In six months, I will have been in this hobby 40 years -- whew! If there's one thing I've learned in that time, it's that the hobby is not primarily about the money, not primarily about sex, and not at all about "emotional involvement." It's about moments -- the fun, the excitement, the adventure that two strangers have in discovering each other in the moment.
That said, here's my "best moments" from 2004. (Oh, I thought of ranking them, but decided not to -- each is too special in its own way; and I don't kiss and tell, so providers will remain unnamed).
Best Keeping A Straight Face in the Face of Absurdity Moment: After convincing my dear friend and provider that it was time to open a brokerage account, I met her at the bank and she showed up with a shoe box full of money to deposit -- yep, something over 10 grand in 10s, 20s, 50s and Franklins. Looked the teller straight in the eye and said "count it."
Best Pure Joy Moment: On a summer night, running hand in hand laughing silly along the Brooklyn Heights Promenade with the Manhattan skyline in the distance.
Best Grit Your Teeth in Altruism Moment: I left my hotel room so she could entertain another client in it.
Most Poignant Moment: Saying good-bye at the airport to a provider I'd developed a deep and genuine rapport with, tho as is often the case - never knew her real name. But we knew, at that moment, for certain, it was the last time we'd see each other as provider/hobbyist, and very likely the last time we'd see each other in person. And then, serendipitously, as she checked in at the computer kiosk, it flashed her real name in big letters, and she turned to me somewhat sheepishly and said, "That's me."
Biggest Surprise/Most Touching Moment: I signed up for an evening; she said, "Stay the night."
Best Stop-in-Your-Tracks Moment: When she pulled up her hair to show me the hearing aid implanted in her skull.
Best Reality Bite: While helping a provider move, packing her lingerie, tools, toys, etc.
Best Walk-in-my-Shoes Moment: I bought my provider an hour with a provider.
Best Win-The-Lottery Moment: Committing to spend a lot of money and a fair amount of time on someone I'd never met and barely knew thru emails, then meeting her at the airport and having all expectations exceeded.
Best Thing I Heard: "Just hold me."

It is all about people getting to know people and respecting, appreciating and ACCEPTING that we all are essentially the same: desiring to be happy. Forget the trying to impress others with money/things, it is impressing yourself and others with simple kindness. Now enough with the mush and have a Happy New Year. Most Interesting Moment: Going out for a midnight snack in a less than perfect area of town and walking through about a hundred young guys hanging out in the parking lot of a popular bar across the street from the restaurant. My date for the evening was definitely not dressed to be out in public – not much left to the imagination.
Most Tender Moment: When a provider cried on my shoulder for about ten minutes while I just held her.
Best “Notch in my Belt” Moment: Hobbying in Brazil.
Funniest Thing I Heard: About 2:00 AM, after spending five reasonably active hours with a provider, hearing her say “I think I’ll go hit the bars and find a woman tonight.”
Best Win-The-Lottery Moment: Developing a relationship with a woman from another country.
Turk, when I saw the post I almost didnt open it , hell its New Years Day , I'm tired and a little hung over. I thought for sure it was going to be one of those usual "Ten Best" tits, ass face, eyes posts that become normal this time of the year.
