Synchonize everyone's time....

At one time every post that appeared on TER was synchronized to PST or PDT.  This allowed one to easily determine when each post was made relative to the others and helped to prevent confusion about who was replying to what, etc.

Some years ago, everyone was invited to select their own time zone, why I don't know, but the practical result was to sow confusion.  Even if everyone selects their proper time zone (not a safe bet) it still interferes with the ability to make sense of the time of each post relative to the others.

The times are fine for all the other posts. Classic times are messed up.

and forcing all the Luddites to start using the new version of TER.

And the holdouts kept expecting them to improve it and fix things when it's broken. Every other website I've been on including all my email carriers have come up with new versions over the years and they usually keep the old ones working for a time, while working out bugs on the new one. They allow you to use either site for a while then shit can the old one and force you to accept the new one. With so many sites I got forced to do that, so with TER I made the switch years ago, assuming classic would soon be dumped. I'm really surprised it still exists. I guess admin really likes mrfisher, Steph, GaG, and the 3 other people that use classic. :)
