think of stars ewing, mullin, mark jackson, walter berry, pinckney, i used to watch every game, that was big east tournament, leo rautins, pearl, seikaly, villanova, georgetown, st. johns. beast of georgetown against st. john's what a rivalry. acc north carolina, maryland, duke, wake forest, kenny anderson. charles barkley in auburn in 80s, that was basketball, ewing elevated ncaa, amazing how great ewing was in college and how great jordan became in nba. kentucky with sam bowie and melvin turpin. that was college basketball for me not many tv markets, no xbox or internet, college basketball was even as big as nba, when ewing played he was king of ncaa. ncaa tournament,
titles in the 80's, while the Big Ten won 3 and the ACC won 2. Not exactly an overwhelming domination by the Big East!
basketball. Ewing was very good in college, but he doesn't compare to, say, Jerry Lucas or Lew Alcindor (Kareem) when it comes to carrying his team to championships and championship games. And when it comes to overall ability, Ewing wasn't in Oscar Robertson's league. Indeed, only Bird, Magic, Jordan, Jabbar and Chamberlain were. To this day, I'm undecided about Maravich.

Bird-Magic matchup in 1979!
I said is that I really don't remember much about that game. There are games I remember much better, again, like that Indiana State-MSU game for the championship in 1979. Indeed, I remember the OSU-Cincinnati game for the championship in 1961 better too! There are others, but it would be a waste of time mentioning them.

nothing. Bird was one of the greatest ever, and he won championships! What a stupid post that was liorr - one of your dumbest!
During his time, Bird had 3 and Magic had 5. Both were great, but Magic played with a slightly better team. But between them, their teams absolutely dominated the league.
