It is unfortunate that Backpage is finally got shut down but it's been coming for a long time. Eros is still available along with many older sites that may come back due to this shut down. I'm hoping though that this does not last long or that another site becomes a centralized source for escorts. See you in the dating section!

The Enlightenment (a European intellectual movement of the late 17th and 18th centuries emphasizing reason and individualism) which achieved the liberties imbued in the Constitution is the exception in governments, not the norm.  This is true at any point in time across the world, and is true for any social group across historical time.  The U.S. is losing this achievement of the founding fathers, descending into a partnership of corporate controlled wealth and government dictated socialism and political correctness (today's equivalent of medieval religion).

It's the dawn of a new Dark Age unless a new political movement arises to stop it.  But I don't see that possibility in the current American character.  The late comic, George Carlin, identified the root of the problem: "garbage in (the electorate), garbage out (political office holders)", so it doesn't matter which 'Republicrat' is president, which set of genitals are present between his or her legs or what shade of skin color.  Those are distinctions without a difference.

Back on the immediate topic --- 1st Craigslist, then Redbook, now Backpage ... Eros next? ... and then ... your e-mails and phone calls?  Yes, that's the trend and public acquiescence combined with 'moral righteousness' (i.e. political correctness) will facilitate it.
