You base this on what?  Cops can't stop a car with diplomatic plate for speeding and they would not be subject to screening by TSA.

Yesterday on a flight from NY to Denver, a diplomat from Qatar slipped into the bathroom to sneak a cigarette... Federal Air Marshalls, according to the local evening news, "subdued" him (whatever the fuck that means, but that's another discussion).  So when the air marshall questions him about the smell of smoke, the guy makes a stupid joke about the smell coming from him trying to light his shoes...

Next thing you know, the flight is diverted to the nearest airport, escorted by U.S. Airforce F-16 fighter planes.

OK, the guy is a middle-easterner and the joke was in poor taste, but still it begs the question... didn't they remove his shoes and check his underwear right on the plane, and having confirmed that he had no explosives on his body send him back to his seat???  Didn't the air marshall have enough common sense to realize that it was a joke, regardless of the fact that it was in poor taste? Didn't it dawn on the air marshall that these days it would be virtually impossible to board a plane wearing shoe bombs?

Geez!

So on the CBS Morning Show, Harry Smith interviewed one of the passangers on the above mentioned flight.  As Harry is somberly interviewing the passenger, the graphic crawl announces "Shoe Bomb Scare"...

Keep in mind, this WHOLE thing started with a guy with a nicotine jones trying to sneak a smoke in an aircraft bathroom.

There was no Shoe Bomb...

There was no scare...

There IS, however, hyperbole...

this week than I did during her father's eight years in office.

And, of course, each reference was initiated or made by a Democrat or a liberal.

Liz thanks all of you libs for all of the attention.  At least now you are obsessing with someone other than Governor Palin or Michelle Bachmann . . . . . . .

As someone who worked for the airlines right out of college years ago, there are certain things you do not say or joke about. Many passengers are nervous when they fly. Look at their faces when the plane goes through normal turbulence, and considering they are flying at 30K feet at 600 mph, and sitting on 250K lbs of fuel, well I can understand that. This ain't the 60s or the 70s. We live in a different world.

If I was the Air Marshall, I would have driven my fist down his mother fucking throat.

He had diplomatic immunity and most likely not subject to normal screening procedures.
This is also why he will not be charged with a crime.

Poppycock, that did not prevent him from screening at Reagan INTL.Cigs and matches are allowed.

Diplomats are not exempt from TSA screening.

Of course these rules are from 2007. Obama may have rejected them by now. It wouldn't surprise me.

If you think what TSA does has anything to do with security you need to think twice.

IMO, 70% of what we do for security, TSA, Patriot Act, or otherwise is about show and doesn't do shit to help.
