He would get the gay vote and his ex wife is hot on Fox :)

I saw Gavin Newsom, the mayor of San Francisco, on Bill Mahr's Real Time the other night.  This guy has Presidential written all over him.  Handsome, intelligent and well spoken.  I don't know anything about him so I was wondering if any San Franciscoites had any comments about him.

weren't too hot, so he bowed out. Could be he knew Meg Whitman had fistfuls of millions, of her own, to spend on her election. It's going to be a very long time, if he does run. But, I guess he may have the time to wait.

Now if you had said Rosie O'Donnell that might be more appropriate considering Newsom is from SFO. Can you even imagine having Newsom and Pelosi running this country?

Go ahead and put a butt-slammer in the White House. It fits right into my plan.

If we don't get the Dems out all my money will be going to taxes and intitlement programs instead of the Hobby. But the Republican's don't have a front runner....yet.

No one can ever be sure. But Newsom isn't gay. He is divorced after an affair with a woman other than his wife. He has done good for SF, but has baggage with the adultry circumstance.

Kimberly Gilfore (spelling?) his ex is on Fox News. Great DSL's!

How scared ARE you that people will find out you like to suck cock, anyway?

Newsome is from San Francisco, but he is in fact heterosexual. You must have mistaken him for a Republican.

Historically speaking, Presidents usually have a job as a Governor of a state, or as a US Senator. Sometimes after a war we'll get a General, but this hasn't happen in quite a long time. The last person who had any chance of this was Colin Powell, and he may still run, but I don't think it's likely.

For that reason, here are the people that I think have the most chance of running on the Republican side.

1) Charlie Crist
2) Bobby Jindal
3) Tim Pawlenty
4) Bob McDonnell
5) Lamar Alexander
6) Jon Kyl
7) Sam Brownback
8) Jim Inhofe
9) Tom Coburn
10) Lindsey Graham
11) Jim DeMint
12) John Thune
13) Kay Bailey Hutchison
14) Sarah Palin

If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Kay Bailey Hutchison, Bob McDonnell, Tim Pawlenty, or John Thune getting the nod in 2012.

On the Democratic side Obama will be renominated, and will likely win by a landslide. What happens in 2016 is anyone's guess.

Did you pull this list out of your ass? Do a little research on Mitch Daniels, Governor of Indiana. You might get great odds in Vegas. Don't discount Giuliani and Romney. The only 3 on your list that make any sense are Thune, Pawlenty and McDonnell.

how Romneycare (which he signed into law in MA. in April 2006) is different than Obamacare...BOTH have similarities, including mandates...

Plus, he's been a flip-flopper on abortion..Hey, flip-flopping helped do in Kerry (voted for it before he was against it), so it works both ways...

Honestly, a great general election candiate for Republicans would be Michael Bloomberg...Problem is, he'd never get thru the primaries where the tea-partiers, social conservatives, etc. would absolutely never vote for him....That's the ONE Republican I wouldn't mind seeing as POTUS...

A simple examination of the Constitution, the 9th and 10th Amendments will point you in the correct direction as to why something that is legal and acceptable for one state to implement is not necessarily correct on a national level.

eddie, that's funny. I like it. Some here won't know of what you speak. When living in Idaho, I used to hunt with a couple of Mormon friends. On one particular pheasant hunt, Steve could not hit the broad side of a barn with a shotgun. He didn't take kindly to my comment of, "What's the matter Steve? Not wearing your magic underwear today?"

Did I pull this list out of my ass? More or less. That's what all of us do when talking about this stuff.

Of my list...I think many of them wouldn't pan out beyond an exploratory committee. However, I would keep my eyes on Charlie Crist, Tim Pawlenty, and Bob McDonnell.

Lamar Alexander has run before, I'd bet he would run again. Same is true for Sam Brownback. Jim DeMint is quickly becoming a new figurehead in the GOP. Thune has the looks, and I wouldn't be surprised if he ran. Kay Bailey Hutchison is really trying to position herself for a run as President or Veep. So far she hasn't been very successful, but I suspect that she will keep trying.
