I don't know about that!

But, I just saw an add for CD's of the Midnight Special show, where Blondie was singing, One Way, Or Another, and whenever she would look into the camera and sing: "I'm gonna gitcha, gitcha, gitcha, gitcha," it gave an instant turn-on. And yet, Lady GaGa's Emmy performance, where she was giving us all good crotch shots to assure us that's she's not a tranny, didn't do a thing for me.

Not only are the politically radicalized Islamofascist jihadists in the grip of murderous political delusions, but they are some unforgiving pop culture critics as well!

And they seem to take  that shit  real serious!  More so than i think most of us could ever have imagined.

[Not even Hilton Kramer and his buddies at The New Criterion ever took cultural critiques and cultural snobbishness this far.]

Or so Bret Stephens would have us believe, and so he would try to convince us in a column of record-breaking obtuseness in Rupert Murdoch's  Wall Street Journal.

Yep, the misguided foreign policies of the US are as nothing, as a motive factor in  Moslem rage, compared to the dodgy pop culture and mass entertainment offerings we so generously bestow upon the world.

So, the next time you have to stand in line in your your stockinged feet for three hours prior to boarding an international flight, remember, it's all the fault Of Lady GaGa. And Madonna.  and the late Michael Jackson.  Probably Led Zepplin too. WTF, why not throw in Lenny Bruce as well?  And  the Bang Bus for good measure?

Dinesh D'szoua didn't have much luck a few years ago trying to sell this shoddy bill of goods; i doubt that Stephens will do better in his turn at bat. Well, at least Stephens is not caling for an alliance between US Xtain fundies and non-Jihadist Islamic conservos to combat the corrosive effects of liberalism, sexual license, and freedom of thought and belief.

Why is it that these guys never seem to want to combat the corrosive effects of a globalized  neo-liberal economy based on permeable boarders and market exchange considerations?  Could it their that their masters might pull the pull on them if they advanced that argument?

Why is it that these guys never stop to wonder if it might be  religion, not pop culture or even licsenciousness, with or without a grafting onto radical politics, that might be the problem?

Bret Stephens, LMAO. I'd expect more acute insights from Bret Michaels when he's riding around with his groupies on that damn bus with his brain beclouded and uncomfortably numbed by all manner of pharmaceutical and sexual excess.

Yeah, i mean what sane, sentient person isn't going to believe that the Arabs and the Moslems of the ME are more pissed off at Lady GaGa than they are at Nabka, or illegal West Bank settlements, or US support of Israel, or US support of repressive absolute monarchies in the petro-states of the Gulf?  It's a wonder they haven't staged terror attacks at her performances. I would think that if they were that pissed off...

Yeah, this would turn me into a suicide bomber as well.  I don't imagine i'd ever consider the simple expedient of no longer listening to music if Lady GaGa displeased me so much.

...that you're a terrorist? Where's my suicide vest? :D

You can make fun of the fact that some people think GaGa makes militant Moslems hate us, ánd you can knock Dinesh D'szousa all you want, BUT
you can not deny the writing of Qtab and  the others who complain about the West´s decadant nature.

You can grouse about those who report it, but this is from the horse's mouth as to why they are mad.

The New Yorker, no Fox-news lackey, ran a similar article years ago, which cited multiple Arab intellectuals saying the same thing.

Just because people like Dinesh repeat what these Islamic intellectuals are thinking does not negate what they said.

Yes. in the list of things that bin Laden issued after 9-11, Isreal was way down on the list.

Isreal ranked close to taking back Andelusha, which the radical Moslems want.  FYI - that is Spain, which they considered to be occupied territory, just like the West bank.
