While I can understand the ladies looking at this site frequently as it pertains to their livelihood, are there any other guys out there besides me for whom this site has become the cosmic center of the Internet?

I must check in here a half-dozen times a day looking for new ladies, nuggets of hobby-related wisdom, perspectives I hadn't thought about, etc. If I'm not expecting an email from a lady, it's 50-50 as to whether I'll go first to my email or TER.

Hey, bro!! I'm thinking about starting a 12-step program, but I'm getting sidetracked by all the time I spend here.

In the psychiatric and drug addiction fields, the word “addiction” refers ONLY to the use of “drugs”, not food, gambling, sex, anger, or any other behavior.  Those are referred to as “obsessions”. Addiction is compulsive use of drugs for nonmedical reasons; it is characterized by a craving for mood altering drug effects, not pain relief. Addiction means dysfunctional behavior, in sharp contrast to the improved function and quality of life that result from pain relief. Aberrant behaviors which indicate addiction may include: denial of drug use; lying; forgery of prescriptions; theft of drugs from other patients or family members; selling and buying drugs on the street; using prescribed drugs to get "high." TER is none of these.

Going on TER often is pleasurable but I don't believe causing dysfunctional or obsessional behaviour. The latter are baggage that people posess before joining TER. I do think that there are times when dysfunctional and obsessional people are on TER. But TER is not the causal component for that behaviour ! So enjoy the comraderie and adventures of our sexual exploits and fantasies.

According to the "American Heritage® Stedman's Medical Dictionary
", the word addiction is defined as "Habitual psychological and physiological dependence on a substance or practice beyond one's voluntary control"  That means that the practice of visiting TER could be considered an addiction.

But what do I know, I am just addicted or obsessed, or just like what happens. :)

The "addiction" is in the Hobby itself.

  FR.

Sex is the drive; the Hobby is the addiction; the net and TER are the "connection."
Whoring is as old as man (and woman), but Hobbying is the 21st Century manifestation. The net brings sex to our fingertip; used to be a man had to prowl the streets and "respectable" guys like us had to invest much more time and effort in pursuit of the illicit satisfaction. The Hobby and TER can be like crack purchased thru an online dealer.
Like drugs, the sexual experience both satisfies a drive and provides a distraction from life's pressures. If used responsibly this drug can "expand your mind" and enhance your overall quality of life.
But the ease of access brings a huge risk of real addictive behavior. I'm just getting back into it after taking 9 months off.
I was spending too much time, not just thinking about it, but acting  out.
And it's not the ladies' fault. They've been wonderful to me, and I remember (most) of them fondly.
But sometimes you just gott'a run your own intervention, y'know?

I plead Insanity!!!   I'm just Crazy about that stuff.!!!!

i totally agree!! It is the women we enjoy! And then seeing if others agree me on how i evaluate them!!

I feel the same way. I just enjoy it. I figure we all have addictions--TER is mine!!!

I'm sure glad there is someone else out there like that.  Luckily, I'm self employed because I think I spend 2-3 hours online either on this site or surfing looking for providers.  Boy, am I glad I have employees who make me money in order to 'feed' my habit.
