I live in LA and have enjoyed the scene for a couple of years. Been to Divas many times when in SF on business. Only been to LA places in the past few months.
Recently have travelled frequently to NY and Miami.
I have learned much from this, and other boards, and decided I should share my perspective; for what its worth. Here's my report in no particular order, for those who are interested.
MIAMI.
Slim pickings. Although I have inquired on other boards, and searched here, I have not found any bar/club in SoBe which compares to Divas/7969. The best I have to offer is Twist; a gay club which is very cool and has no attitude. The club has 5 bars as I recall. However, the girls can usually be found at the middle bar (when you enter the club, go up the stairs, and when you reach the top, wind your way around to the right, stop at the next bar you see.) Last time there I danced 'till 4:00 am with a very hot latin number who was there with several friends. (Things could have progressed, but did not for reasons too boring to explain) That nite I also saw a very hot lady who was working the room hard but did not get to her in time. On other occassions I've seen and played with others. But the options are always very limited. Moreoover, if gay bars are not your thing -- beware -- insofar as the the back bar features underwear dancers [thankfully thongs are somehow not allowed in SoBe] -- although I will say from experience this part of Twist is a spectacular place to pick up drunk GG's!!.
Others have reported sightings at other mainstream clubs/hotels; Delano/Crobar, etc. Some also claim the Copa is good; I have not visited and have seen mixed reports.
NYC
I have not had the pleasure of attending one of Allanha's parties; they appear to be the best thing going in NYC.
I've twice visited the Sunday nite "Tranny Shack" at SBNY (fka Splash) at midnite. The first nite I went (2 months ago or thereabouts) (which was the inagural eve) there were many cute girls on site; however I had something going with a GG so I did not pay close attention. The first nite seemed to be a full scale lip sinc kind of thing, and appeared to have promise. However, I was there again two weeks ago and the event (if you can call it that) appears to have fizzled. Saw three TV's; one of which got on a box and danced. That was it.
SF
The reports of Diva's demise on other boards are, in my view, premature. I've been on Wed/Thurs/Fri and Sat nigts and with the exception of two really bad Sat nites; the club is generally well attended by a nice variety of attractive ladies. My favorite nite is Thurs (Diva's Darlings). Well worth a visit.
The Power Exchange is another story (at least for this novice). I went with a girl I met at Divas (saved me a hefty admission price). However, when the concept of visiting a sex club with a girl met reality, I confess to being freaked out by all the dudes wandering around with towels wrapped around their waists (it is a really weird thing to behold). I will return; next time prepared for the scene.
LA
Although I have yet to hook up at 7969 it has not been for a lack of options or opportunities. Just more difficult to accomplish on the home turf. I like the club alot. Last time; there were dozens of girls; on a monday nite; many very very cute. Have not visited on a friday nite but hear its even better. The nice thing about 7969 over Divas is the back room with couches for more intimate encounters.
Went to the Lodge in North Hollywood last Sat nite. Very much a TV/cross-dresser scene. Met many very nice people; had a very good time. Nothing more. Would return; but not rush.
Good info, Gatling. Personally, I live in San Diego and I've been to L.A. only a couple of times. Around Christmas time I drove up to Venice to check out their boardwalk. I was up there for one day and that was the most time I've ever spent in L.A.
We don't have anything like Peanuts here in San Diego. If you want to spend time with a nice shemale San Deigans have 2 options. Find one on Eros and then go to her place. Or go to a club in Tijuana.
The TJ thing is always enticing, though like anything else it has it's downside. And it's a big downside. The girls there are a little like the girls in Brazil in that alot of girls have an STD of one sort or another. Condoms are a must for all sexual activity in TJ! The enticing thing is that you can hire girls at a cheap price, for a long session. Good looking ones, for several hours. Again..just like Brazil, although of course TJ's selection could never ever match what Brazil or Thailand has to offer. The selection in TJ is downright slim when it comes to quality. I've been thinking about what Mexicali might have to offer. That's a town that's moderate in size and has a large Asian population. I'm sure they have tgs there. I know they have a few gg bordellos so you know they have their own red-light district.
As far as getting an Eros girl is concerned..going to an American tgs apartment is always a little weird. Unless of course you're an established regular. And even then it can be kinda weird, depending on the neighborhood.
I look forward to checking Peanuts out. I wonder if they have any decent hotels near the club for guys like me who are from out of town. A hotel with a jacuzzi would be nice. A hotel with a private jacuzzi would be even nicer. Mapquest says it would take me about 2 hours to get there coming from central San Diego. I imagine traffic would be a bitch to deal with on the drive up. I wonder what time of day is best for driving up there and avoiding all the traffic. Probrably 3 a.m...lol.

Thanks for sharing your insights... pretty interesting. I've always thought LA has one of the better club scenes for TS's, but it's nice to hear someone else have a positive impression as well.
But just to give my opinion... The Lodge is indeed a bit more laid back than 7969 and it has more of the old Queen Mary vibe to it, but there ARE TS girls that go there. I was there last sat. night too and I would say it was about 50/50 between TS & CD girls.
Few more thoughts/responses.
As for hotels near 7969 the two issues are your budget and the disinclination of the ladies to travel too far. I'm aware of no really nice hotels within striking distance of the hotel (anyone?). However, if you are willing to spend more than the going rate for a "no tell" joint, there are plenty of nicer hotels in West Hollywood, and Hollwood which would serve your needs well. There are several boutique hotels in WeHo, just minutes away (e.g. the Valadon) which feature rooftop pools/spas (not the in-room variety though). These will set you back $100+ a nite (although maybe less on a monday). The problem I fear, especially on your first trip, is finding someone willing to travel too far away from the club. But maybe this is not really an issue.
Star is absolutely right about the mix at the Lodge and I'm sorry if I left a different impression.
One other thought. I've seen inquiries from time to time concerning where one can go to dance with the ladies. My experience has been that none of the so-called TS clubs are particularly good in this regard. Dancing certainly goes on (I danced last Sat at the Lodge); but its nothing like the DJ controlled packed dance floor of a true niteclub. My best time has been at Twist (there's nothing like SoBe at 3:00 am). The only place I've ever had something close to that experience in LA(and it was a far cry)is dancing w/TS's at Mickey's in WeHo on a Wed night (at its best, Wed nite at Mickey's features something for everyone: bondage/whipping shows; TS go go dancers; GG go go dancers; guy go go dancers; guys in showers; dwarf porn stars AND all of it visible from SM blvd!)
