I guess they are doing well. They went from being free admission to charge 40$. They always bring big names in porn to these events but frankly... It's just Unheard of to charge 40$ to men and girls.
Have you guys been to this strip club?
From my experience, not at the Tranny Strip, but at bars with a TS night, often the guys pay a door fee and any gg or ts get in for free. Its also usually about half if not less than half of what they are charging. Clearly they are passing some of the door fee onto the stars coming in for the evening and/or that's my feeling.
I would certainly pay $40 to get in, well worth it.
I've been to a place in San Fran that had no cover, but the girls weren't anywhere near the ones in the video and most were pros. I must admit I took one back to the hotel. That was A LOT more than $40.
Could the place in San Fran be called, lets see...hmmmm, "Divas"? Yea, that's a completely different atmosphere. I'd pay $40 bucks too. I see this as more of a special event vs. a regular day at good ole Divas in SF 
Divas charges cover too, but not 7 days per week and its more reasonable. If they have a special event, its more like a few school girl dancers on Thursday night. To me, that's worth cover too. Its entertainment so why not right?
If you can't afford to pay the cover, don't go and hit up your free tranny tube sites and have your own party
You are correct, it was Diva's. The night I was there it wasn't a special event plus I got there early.
I've always assumed that the building where Divas is located must be under rent control or bought and paid for a long time ago. I have never seen it totally packed and the real estate rates in SF are crazy silly expensive.

I'd say yes it is worth it as well but there are other nights in NYC, at different locations, where the cover charge is $10-$20 and just as much fun. I usually drink beer at those bars because the drinks are small and watered down. Look around for some other less expensive nights in NYC as the talent in that city in unrivaled. There used to be a place in Brooklyn called Lucho's (sp?) that was fun but I heard it closed.
I once popped into Diva's around 2:00 one afternoon and there were a couple of girls in there in the first floor bar wearing jeans and sweatshirts with little make-up just hanging out. I ended up leaving with one of the girls and had a blast. Diva's can be fun anytime of the day/night.
Here's why I think it's unheard of:
They do bring big names to the stage at that strip club, and the place is a legitimate strip club during the week so it makes the ts night even more upscale and legitimazes the dancers and all. Great! I do love my tgirls and I enjoy seeing them dance and move heir booties. Guilty as charged. What I'm against of is the fact that they bring a big pornstar and she dance once.... Once... And then she goes to some VIP area where I think a private dance from here costs over 100 bucks. I went see Jane Marie there and put 5 bucks in the boobies a while ago. Great experience. Basically I saw her for 5 minutes and then she went to those private room.
They already make a killing on drinks and other ladies who entertaing the crowd. Paying 40 bucks to see my favorite porn actress for no more than a few minutes...maybe I'm a cheap stake. Idk. Doesn't seem fair. But hey. Maybe it's just me lol.
Perhaps Diva's has special status as a landmark...

I'm not aware that any of the local strip clubs have a T-girl night, but our famous local bar the Gay 90's hosts "Trans Exotica" night every Wednesday. There's no cover charge, and the event is run strip-club style. The ladies pole dance and there's a small area for lap dances. My only problem is that some of the better lap dances cost almost what it would to just hire an escort. Nothing like spending your $200 on a lap dance, and then the lady offers to let you come home with her for $250...
Just curious, is Trans Exotica still going on every Wednesday in Mpls? I don't see any recent ads for it, but I'm in town here in Mpls so I'm going to check it out tonight anyway.
