...join a non-profit group that identefies your occupation, for fear of LE attention? I ask because I have put in an order to start a non-profit group called E.A.R.T.H.-- Escorts Against Rejecting The Helpless, but as I am siiting here thinking about it, I am wondering how many people I can get to join. I will be joining the chamber of commerce when I get it offically started and I will be posting on all the non-profit helper sites, but I am curious if I can actually get people to be a part. This has always been a dream of mine (those of you who have read my bio on my website know this) and I would hope it would come true soon...

A small summary of the goals of my group is to do minor things for the community-- visiting the elderly, visiting and raising money for the orphanage/foster care centers, raising money for the battered womens shelters, having soup kitchens for the homeless, save a few vegas landmarks (if possible) that are fast becoming more and more scarce, and so on and so forth and whatever else we can come up with! And ultimatley I would like to hold a scholorship contest each year for an escort or dancer that would like to go to college full time. The contest will be something like a beauty and brains thing where you have to write an essay to get in and the rest will be judged on your presance and your interview intellegance and goals in life...

whaddaya think? would you be intersted or afriad to? I know with myself actually I am a lil timid about the attention this will bring to me-- but I would rather the community (and LE) know that I am doing something good with my money! Plus I pay my taxes (hee hee) so I dont fear a backfire as much as I would if I didnt!

Sounds like a noble idea to me ,but I don't know about the LE ramifications. Maybe you should post this on the legal board, you might get a better response there. Best of luck :)

But it does compromise the anonymity so important here right now.  As it is, I wouldn't put "escorts" in the title.  Perhaps it may be understood within that you are providers, and you could make membership by "invitation." There is little reason to announce the fact to the public, and plenty of trouble possible if you do.

But if you do good work over a long period, and make the group well known, but shadowy, and then have the public gradually realize that you are providers, that would be better for providers' public image.

and your good will  (please don't take this the wrong way - I have the utmost respect for you) I think you're crazy!!! No good deed goes unpunished! Not only will you bring undesired attention to yourself, you may bring that same attention to your clients. This, of course, may ruin your business...

In this case, "no good deed goes unpunished!" - I realize I took the quote out of context but I'm trying to make a point for your benefit.
Good luck to you.

Excuse the intrusion... I'm not a lady... but I think you should really think about what you are trying to accomplish.

Though your idea is admirable, if you want to help the "helpless" you can do that a number of ways with out identifying your profession.

The only reason I can see for linking the profession with helping the less fortunate is to try to build some goodwill for escorting.    However, it may well back fire on you because people may view it as a cynical attempt on your part to legitimize a "sinful" activity.  (Kind of like how I view Scientologists trying to educate children... they may well be helping the kids, but I still don't like the organization.)

Again I think your heart is in the right place, but as a member of our little TER community, I would hate to see you get hurt, emotionally or otherwise.

...I most definitly do not desire to bring this out publicly in anywhere but Vegas, where it is a little more tolerated. Of course anyone would be welcome to join, from anywhere-- but it will be based soley out of Vegas since the city is a lil more "provider-friendly"; the biggest worry for LE out here is if you have a pimp, have AIDS or arent paying thier salary (taxes)! And since you can be liscenced out here (in Nevada but outside of Clark County), I think it kinda puts a legal stamp on it as far as identifying ourselves-- they already know alot of us are here!

Dont get me wrong though--I still think that I would have a hard time drumming up members, but I think the real, actual safety issue isnt a problem, its just whether ladies will think it will be...

Personally, I think the Vegas community will be delighted to see its less desireable citizens publicly doing some good! Though Im sure there will be some opposition, as a whole I think all those wives would like to see thier husbands money eventually going to a good cause! (Im so bad, I should slap myself for that one)

as escorts.

Also, the Chamber of Commerce very likely will not 'accept' such an organization into their memberships.

Some time back (a year, maybe?) someone had posted an article about a group of escorts who'd raised thousands of dollars for a benefit. When they presented the money, and the organization understood where the money came from, it was returned. They would not accept money raised from prostitutes.

...loves the sex workers! They send me emails all the time asking me to join-- since out here, you are your own business-- and I just never did. But if you ever got one you would laugh, because its full of like half nekked strippers and adlut industery affiliates in sexy poses and its inviting you to go to a "Sin city Mixer" and see how you like it! Very funny-- perhaps I will forward you one... you will get a good laugh!

plus, I know of alot of groups that are very similar out here... but they dont have such a nifty name! thats why I said I would only do events out here but anyone would be welcome to join...

Like I said, my main concearn would be with getting people to join, not so much with LE having issues...
