They have a lot of pieces they need to replace. A new special teams coach, both kickers, a quarterback of the future, a future #1 receiver for the dreaded day Fitz retires, something for the O-line, and another defensive back. And that is assuming they resign Calais Campbell and Jones. If they lose one or both they need to replace those guys too. The only things that are really set for this team is David Johnson is our running back, Peterson is our #1 DB, and Fitz at receiver for as long as he wants to be.
It will be an interesting off season. I think a lot of it will rest on what Palmer and Fitz decide. If they both want to go another year then I think the Cardinals will just try to reload. But if they retire, and I think if one does the other likely will too, then I wouldn't be surprised to see them let Jones and or Campbell both go and try to rebuild around David Johnson and get a franchise quarterback.
David Johnson is a very special athlete, that's certain. Wouldn't be surprised if the cards let him leave. Special teams has been pretty much a catastrophe, and both kickers do need replacing. It's been obvious for a long time Palmer was never going to be a Q to take anyone to a SB, they never should've extended him. Although you're right, replacing him right now would be difficult. Fitz. How do you replace Fitz? He's a great guy, and I honestly wouldn't mind seeing him leave, IF he went somewhere and got a ring. The Brown's and Nelson are very promising but streaky, and there are special skills Larry brings that nobody else here can seem to do. Floyd has the body for it but just isn't any good at it for some reason. And what's up with Floyd anyways? He has slumps where it's like his hands are made of rock. He hasn't been right somehow since he broke his fingers. We have two good TE's who could maybe be great, but we only call their numbers twice a game. If they lose Campbell and Jones, they'll probably finish a game or two under 500 next year.
