Suggestion and Policy

I guess you didn't notice that it was approved yesterday

How about revisiting the board and you will see that you even have a few replies. I just figured that I would take all the guess work away from the peanut gallery, lol.

... what makes this an ad? I posted the following on the San Francisco regional board:

Title: Burning Man
Is anyone going? I wasn't planning to, but my bf's friends ended up with extra tickets. Not sure yet if we're going since it's a month away and we haven't planned or budgeted for it... This would be my fifth Burn, haven't been since 2011. Just curious whether anyone else here is going.
Related link: www.burningman.com

... and since I am still under moderation, it never posted. It was rejected because it "appears to be an ad." How is this an ad??? Look at the recent post in the CA Central Valley forum entitled "Concours D'Elegance in Lake Tahoe"... how is that different from mine? What makes my post an ad, while that one was allowed to stay? Since admin has not responded to my request for further explanation, I'm asking the community. Please help me understand.

TER saw this as an offer to spend time with a client at BM.

I agree with you however.  Such an inquiry is fairly innocent.

odd. Nothing 'ad' like about it that I could see either. Sorry about that, frustrating indeed.

But I too just had something kinda 'odd' happen as well. Someone pulled my ads today after days of being posted because of a total of 2 words in the ad and ............. (apparently you can't use punctuation or something of any kind). Was deff an odd answer to me too considering the ads stayed up for a few days and then they were pulled. I mean the ad couldn't have been any simpler. Didn't think I did a thing wrong but oh well. We aren't in charge. And sometimes there is absolutely no logical explanation to anything here I am seeing. That's all I will say about that. I do think it's something in the air however.

... that's the motto that TER admins live on when it comes to moderating the forums.

I've had posts that stay up for a few days, then it's gone. I ask for an explanation, I get nothing from TER. Or, if I do get something... it's always that canned message that begins with "Reason: Your post does not meet the TER guidelines. Please review the posting guidelines here.", with no specific reason given. You are left to wonder which guideline your post didn't meet.

Since TER isn't giving us a specific reason as to why our posts are being rejected, we have to play the guessing game and since there are a number of different TER admins monitoring the forums, one admin's opinion will differ from another admin's opinion.

Go figure...

Let's see if we can help you out with some explanations:

-Two  of your posts was negative/rude - which we advised in the reason.  Are you unsure what this means?

- Several of your posts mentioned a banned website - which we advised in the reason - Yes when a site goes away, it is still not allowed to be mentioned by name, initials, etc.

If we unapprove a post with 'does not meet TER guidelines', and you can't figure out which guideline it does not meet, just click the 'contact us' button and we'll be glad to review the post and let you know.  You will need to check 'My Feedbacks' to see our reply

Right... you're still using the 'Double Standard'...

Let's review real quick, huh?

You let in a post in the Newbie section that was permitted even though it clearly was a negative/rude comment. Why was that post allowed? Yea, I know it was eventually removed, but only after someone reported that post.

In the post that you had rejected... I even put in the '***' and that still wasn't enough, but you are still allowing people to post the acronyms 'BP'... which many of us know that is Backpage. Isn't that a competitor of TER? Or not? Yea, I know you're going to use the 'We are a review website' excuse.

So... it's clear to me and many others that TER's 'Double Standard' is prevalent. Those are just 2 examples that comes to mind.

Oh? You need another example? How about Perfectstorm's response to your post? His comment has nothing to do with the original post thread, but yet TER allows that to be there. Why?

How did you make it past puberty?

Just how much time have you been spending in the woods with a branch up your ass?

What part of "competing review site" don't you understand. This rule has been in place since TER's inception and no one else seems to have a problem understanding it, what makes you so dense?

It's not like a meadow...running through the flowers and such.

No my friend...a forest is dense.  Big trees...wolves and scary creatures.

I agree...no one else seems to have a problem understanding TER rules.  Well...Taylor does still think that some here have magical powers...but that's not a dense issue.  Is it?

Perhaps lol. God knows I can't figure some things out that happen here, can you? I've just given up trying so I'll let the 'powers' that be....well, be. ;)

As far as what I think Mr. Trees was stating was that, TER admin was 'comparing' BP ads (in their words) with the current TER ads and they are fearful of them looking similar, which brought up the pulling of my ever so simple ads recently (which I'm sure you never even saw). But what I don't think they realize is that TER ads could never ever be compared to a BP ad, no matter what a lady does here. Two totally different venues, two totally different sites all together. But they have to institute some kind of policy to keep measures in place there.......................... Papa............................understand?

Do you like your new name? I think it suits you well.

Muah ;)

While we have explained this to Taylor in feedback, we will explain to those who might be wondering.

Our guidelines state we do not allow special characters in the subject line and for certain punctuation, including .... (dots) we do not allow these in mass numbers.

We hope providers want their ads to look more professional, not like text messages or ads that appear on some sites.  While .................. may not look as bad as **...±±±In ToWn ThIs WeEK*****, we have to draw the line somewhere, so we limit the acceptable ones (! , - ? /) to 2-3 (... or !! for example).

If doing an audit on the boards we find ones that slipped by, then they will be unapproved.

And I did thank you for that explanation. But I still disagree that your funny description of the LuVVbOysi!!!@@@ thing (I can't even do it right LOL) versus the point of simple punctuation used specifically as it's meant to be used, are two totally different things. At least to me. Hey, what do I know lol. However, doing the &&*HiBoYs thing is and never will be me lol. Too cute and funny. Happy to see you responding and addressing the issue at hand. Duly noted on all accounts.

It was approved after I posted this question, and they backdated it to when I first submitted it. They rejected it because they assumed the related link was a link to my personal website, which is obviously not the case.
