Thanks for the input, folks. I wasn't too "scared" despite the title of my post, just wasn't sure what I should do were I ever to be infected. When I thought about it, I was concerned that informing the providers that I had something might be construed as "accusing". In truth, had I caught something I wouldn't have a clue as to which lady gave me the gift.

So how scared was I? Even while I was sitting there waiting to be tested I was thinking about how much happier I've been since I started hobbying. Is there a pleasure in life greater than being with a woman? What magic you ladies have.

A recent scare sent to me to the local clinic for an STD check. While in this instance I seem to be OK, I was wondering what's the standard operating procedure for such things. If I had something, do I contact all the providers I've seen since the last test? Or do most get checked pretty frequently?

P.S. It was a bummer to hear from the experts that BBBJ is NOT very safe in terms of catching something. :(

By law, if you test positive for a Sexually Transmitted Disease the Public Health personnel have to ask you about your partner(s).  They can't make you reveal names, but everybody involved knows full well you didn't just contract it by yourself.  You can expect pressure to reveal names, or at least pressure to contact your partner(s) yourself so they can seek care and stop the chain of the gift that keeps on giving.

If you had caught something then yes you should contact all the girls you have seen so they can get checked out themselves. I can't speak for the girls in the USA but in the UK most of us visit the clinic every three months. (well I do)

As for BBBJ not being very safe...Well neither is crossing the road :o) but from what I have read the chances of catching anything are very low.

I had my own scare recently.  The providers I have seen have indicated that they test regularly for their own sake and the sake of their clients.  The news of a possible STD was taken matter-of-factly and I received emotional support from these ladies about my situation.  Luckily the tests came back negative...whew!

If you do have positive results, please do contact the ladies for their sake and safety and those who will be with these ladies.  The women I have seen do get tested regularly.

There's endless debate about this one, the BBBJ controversy re-opens!

Personally I'm glad that I don't have, nor have I ever heard of, a standard operating procedure for dealing with STD's. But yeah, letting the ladies know would be the courteous and RIGHT thing to do... women can have a lot of STD's with no symptoms for a long time, and they can do a lot of damage to our reproductive health.

As for BBBJ not being safe catching something, well... HIV doesn't live well in the mouth, so unless you get BITTEN by someone whose mouth is bleeding, it's very unlikely. Other STD's are obviously more likely, especially if a lady has cold sores around her mouth.   Or, dear lord of all that is holy please forbid, warts around her mouth.  That one goes both ways... you should prolly not let a diseased looking mouth touch your cock, and a woman should not let her healthy mouth touch any diseased looking penii. (Penii?)

Odds of catching herpes and warts are probably the highest two orally, IMO.  But don't take my word for it... go to google.com and type in oral sex STD's.  Or just oral sex STD. Or oral sex chlamydia or whatever STD most concerns you at the moment. You have all the info in the world at your fingertips.  Don't ever think that a health professional will tell you that the only study of HIV and oral sex was done on gay hispanic men, and that 8 out of 1000+ men came up positive for HIV at the end of the study and SWORE they only had oral sex... because they won't. The truth is that there is risk in everything, but it's virtually impossible to definitively figure out how high the risk is for any one STD... human beings cannot be put in cages to study this stuff.

Personally I think you're much, much more likely to get in a car accident in this horrid rainy weather, then you are to catch anything via BBBJ, but I suppose the accident is easier to explain to your wife. Unless you're getting a BBBJ at the time! LOL! :)

Best,
Tamara

First off calm down, the risk is very low for oral, especially on the receiving end. Check out this site. Go to the STD section.

You can ask questions here too.

The test clinic generally ask you to list name of your partner in case you are infected and they need to contact the person. I think this is only mandatory in county facilities where they want to limit the rate of infection as much as possible. When I got tested (all negatives thank goodness), the nurse told me that the most infectious disease these days is ghonoreah, which you can indeed get from BBBJ.  I guess the best way to counter this is to pee afterwards.... It's always a good idea to pee after hobbying, as I was told...

One side note, I really hate the free clinic in Los Angeles.  It's crowded, and the staff is rude.  Especially that red-headed lesbian lady who does STD counseling.  In order to get the free STD test, you have to participate in that 10-minute counseling session.  Anyway, I told her I was hobbying, and she looked at me like "are you crazy????".  She judged me like I was scum of the earth.  I basically ignored her because she was so biased.  I took my blood, urine, physical tests, and got results 2 weeks later.  No biggee.  The nurse who told me my results was cool though.  He said HIV is much harder to catch than other STDs.  One time he was accidentally stuck by an HIV-stained needle during a procedure.  He was so scared for 6 months (a test after 6 months is deemed most reliable).  I ca totally understand his fear...man, that must have been hell for him!  But he came back clean, and real relieved.

This thread was very helpful. I absolutely HATE covered BJ's but will do them if requested. I knew the risks are low for STD's but it was good to see it reconfirmed. As I have said before, our sexuality is one of life's greatest gifts. I love sharing the magic.
