I didn't see a thread for this, but maybe I missed it. I thought this would be of interest:

The director and star were on the radio this week http://www.npr.org/2015/07/21/424966750/a-downtrodden-l-a-corner-inspires-comedy-and-friendship-in-tangerine. Interesting discussion about sex work being really the only option for Tgirls to generate income due to workplace discrimination. This seems to be a very common experience for transwomen. The star, Mya appears to have moved on from hustling, but I wonder what percentage of providers eventually get used to the lifestyle of escorting - the easy money, flexible hours, etc. and give up on finding employment with a trans friendly company.
