Russia/Canada were the two favorites heading into the tournament...now after tonight, one of them will not even get a medal. It will be a great, beyond intense game. Whenever you have Alex and Sid on the ice the stakes are high. Throw in a single elimination Olympic game and this one should be an all out (pardon the over used pun) war.. While Russia would be extremely disappointed to loose this game, heaven help us if the Canadians dont even get a medal with the games in their home country.
I cant believe the US can actually make the gold medal game without having to face Russia, Canada or Sweden. I thought they would have to face at least one of them in the semis...boy the Hockey Gods have sure smiled on the US. They should beat Switzerland fairly comfortably. After that, the winner of CR/Finaland match, while not easy, should still favor the US....at this point, anything less than a Silver Medal, in my opinion, would be a HUGE let down.
I think the russians are going to win. What a way when we make it to beat russia in finals. I think that would be a great way to finish the olympics.
to the USA. I'd rather see Canada win, as they're our neighbors, and it increases the chances of a USA-Canada game for the gold medal, which would be awesome as a rematch. The TV audience would be huge!

not be excited about this matchup? You might not like hockey but I bet you'll appreciate it a lot more if you watch this game from start to finish.
It should be a fantastic game like almost every game in this tournament has been. So many compelling story lines.
