I'm 26 and currently attending college. I have no work number to give to the provider I'd like to see. How do I prove to her that I am who I say I am? Will she see me, will anyone see me!?

Offer the lady some additional security. Are you in any of your colleges on-line directories? Point her there so she can be assured that you are a student. Perhaps even explain to her how you can be a student and still be able to afford her time. Think about it, and offer whatever you are comfortable with in leiu of references...
UNLESS her website is clear that you MUST have references...
then keep looking for the right lady.

Hab a similar problem but provider agreed to meet for drinks to screen me and we took it from there as a matter of fact there is a lady out there that uses this method for all her clients just my.02
