While things do come up and life interrupts...What is the saying?  People plan and God laughs!  Anyway, it boils down to simple customer service.  The gals that treat this like the business that it is are the ones that don't leave their customers hanging.  There is so much margin for jerking both sides around that don't need to be rehashed, but it almost makes me physically ill to not keep a commitment I made.  I hate being late!  I value these attributes very highly and trust is so easily lost.  I wish you good luck, and don't blame you at all for moving forward.
...with Lexi whole-heartedly. And this industry no different than any other... some small business owners take it very seriously and succeed... some are flaky with it and will fail within 5 yrs (sm biz failure/success stat).

IMO, it's always beneficial to find a community venue that allows gents to leave a review stating, "I don't know... she was a NCNS". Then when a prospect Googles "flakymary reviews", this report will show up amongst her 'juicy reviews'. It's only fair. Now I would NEVER leave a derogatory review stating, "We never met because she said her kid just projectiled all over the car with the flu"... that would be harsh!

IF by slim chance I reschedule a guy who I felt at the time, burned me, but whose excuse was convincing of empathy for their circumstance, I will be honest with his inquirer if used as a reference. I think it's only fair she know it could happen to her (and I was just victim of an actor with a believable story).

An asshole is what it is, (physically or figuratively!), and there's usually no changing that. But word gets around if the respectful shares their 'flake-ster' stories (reporting is NOT gossiping/slandering). And Provider or Hobbyist, if you've made a bad name for yourself, then you'll eventually have to sleep in the karmic bed you've made. Alone.

Reading the post below made me think of a question.

How often has a provider flaked on you, then apologized and offered a discount and then the subsequent session just sucked so badly that you are left feeling like you should have just dropped it and called yourself lucky?

I've been doing this for almost 11 years and I can't even count how many times a provider, even the highly reviewed and rated ones, have flaked on me at the last minute leaving me sitting in a parking lot, texting and calling trying to figure out if the session is going to go forward or if I've been stood up yet again.

Inevitably they seem to contact me back 30 to 45 minutes after the session with something reminiscent to "What happened baby? Where did you go?"

Grrrrrrrrr........

In all this time whenever I've been offered a special for my trouble the makeup session has never been good. At this point when a provider flakes on me I permanently write her off the first time and just move on to the next.

Whats your take

But I've only been active for a year and a half.  One of them, the make up was ok,  but not great. I haven't repeated.

The other is a regularly late provider who adds a lot more time  to the end of the session to make up for the time she is late. And she seems to only have one speed.  Which is amazing.  With her, I am always hoping she is late. Lol

... what we referred to as the awesome, angry sex two lovers would share after a huge fight. I like your new definition. I've only been flaked on twice. Once, I never heard back from her after I reached out after she didn't show. The second one I set up a session a year later when I was back in her city and she had to cancel due to sick kids. Totally understandable and at least she had the professionalism to notify me she had to cancel. I really don't mind if a lady is late for an appointment, and, if she chooses to add a lil' more time to the end of the session, love it!  I prefer a lady showing up late rather than early or to not at all.
