I think it is certainly fair to say that one negative review should not turn a reader off to a particular provider. That may be what I wrote (I'm not looking at the original post as I write this) - but it doesn't seem accurate to me in retrospect.

netmichelle makes a great point and is something I'd like to elaborate on. The reviews are both informative in the sense that they are helpful to others in making their choices - or in choosing not to choose.

But many of them are also simply interesting to read. In the film world, a couple of thumbs up or a few paragraphs on a movie help us decide what to see on a Friday night. But a particularly well-written review is worth the time in and of itself. And bad movie reviews are often much more fun to read than positive reviews.

In just the short time I've been reading this site - I find myself drawn to the rip off reviews and other negative reviews. Not because I need to be warned, but because many of them offer the great imagery of a film noir classic. nice take michelle - I'd say more but you said it better.

Another good point was this: There might be more positive reviews than negative reviews because as hobbyists use this site as a guide, then the girls with better reviews become more popular and thus generate more positive reviews. The poorly rated providers will see less action - particular with those using the web site - and will naturally have less reviews.

Good conversation everyone. Thanks for your responses.

I'm new to the board and the hobby. My question is about positive reviews.

IMO, there are far more positive reviews than negative reviews. There might be the same amount of 10s and 1s, but there are many more 7, 8, and 9s than there are 2, 3 and 4s.

I can think of two reasons for this: One, guys are more enthused about writing positive reviews after a good time than they are for writing a negative review after a bad time. The other would - I guess - be that most of the providers reviewed are simply good at their jobs.

Let me add - on behalf of others new to the board and the hobby - that I really do appreciate all of you who take the time to write reviews and offer other important tips, information and opinions. I appreciate it.

Final thought: While I see many more positive reviews than negative reviews, negative reviews are more meaningful to me for some reason. In other words, a bunch of good reviews can peak my interest  - but one or two negative reviews is all it takes to turn me off. Even though all are just "one man's opinion," negative reviews seem to carry more weight for me. I think it is because there are so many choices out there, though I can't say for sure.

Again, thanks to all for the reviews and thanks in advance for any responses to this post.

As everything is so YMMV in this world, I can understand not putting as much weight into positive reviews as negative...

At the same time -
if a lady has lots of good reviews, one or two negative reviews should not be counted heavily against the lady.  It could be a fake review to ensure VIP status, it could be done out of spite (lady refuses to see the man), perhaps the encounter went south due to the mans actions, maybe even another lady posting trying to harm the competition.  Look to see what else the reviewer has posted... never?  all negative?

Pay attention to the negative reviews... but look at the overall picture.

I agree with Sola. I look at the overall picture, and try not to let one negative review sway me too much. There are so many things that one bad review could represent. And, I pay a lot of attention to the credibility of the reviewer. If the negative review is from someone who usually rates fairly, and what he says seems credible, I give it more weight. But if it's only one bad review among tons of positive reviews, also by credible reviewers, I ignore it.

Hope that helps.

You make a good observation about a guy that does not want to admit to getting scammed, thus only will review the positive experiences. But also consider that the TER hobbyists are the ones spending time here online doing our homework rather than taking unknown chances. This would slant the results toward a majority of positive reviews as well. Of course even the best get the occasional bad experience, or just cannot resist the temptation to try a new lady without any reviews that we then learn is a ROB.
Sola also made a good point about one bad review does not necessarily make a provider a ripoff. The number of reviews, over what time period, and consider the source of who the reviewer is must all be included for a thorough evaluation. In fact, I sometimes like to see a little flucuation in reviews, it shows she has good and bad days and is possibly being more genuine, rather than acting and faking it all the time. I would not trust a page of reviews that is all perfect 10/10's either.

All of us ladies do havr good and bad days. That is why the majority of us do have reviews that flutuate. It does show that we are only human, not robots! Also, men should realize that there are 2 people in a room, and not one. How I react to someone, is how they present themselves to me (meaning personality and hygiene wise).

YMMV, Folks..

There is a certain fascination and allure of bad reviews, the really low bottom feeding, gum smacking torrid sessions. The fodder of trashy mag fiction, the stuff that makes duct taped stillettos and ripped lingerie intriguing. If there was only good reviews then this board would be ho-hum boring. Rip off reviews are funny: dirty and pithy. I like reading the middle of the road reviews. The fivers and sixers are usually better reads. The ones and twos are like body bags dumped at a stopsign. No real flair. Bring on the smut, the cottage cheese thighs, and the whiskey breath.

Currently I am on a shuttle bus, heading to a Vegas hotel from airport. There is a wedding dress hanging on the bus rack. I find this amusing. Only in Vegas.

I do look at bad reviews and if there is only one I usually discount it.  Chalk it up to YMMV or bad day or something.  I also check the reviewer as some folks are well respected and have good credibility.

About writing the acutal review, I got the biggest kick out of Net Michelle's thoughts.  I love to "spin a yarn."  Some of my reviews may sound like trashy romance novels.  You only need to read my reviews of Gem and Lesley Warren to know what I mean.

Michelle, I could kick myself for missing you in Saratoga!

This site is more of a "Consumer Reports".

I do not read reviews for entertainment purposes... I read them to know how to best invest my money.  I see a one anywhere in the ratings then I usually skip seeing the provider... I don't even waste my time reading why it was so bad... I don't care, I just make sure it doesn't happen to me.

I hate reading long reviews about how the guy went DATY on the women, got her all wet and gave her the big "O" blah blah blah... I want to read about what she did to him because that's what I can expect she'll do to me.  I enjoy giving a woman pleasure, but in the end, it's ultimately my pleasure that I'm paying for.

Good reviews are as equally important as bad reviews, but the absence of any reviews (good or bad) is not desireable at all... I don't risk $$$$ to take one for the team, that's just not smart spending.  As far as more good than bad... I'm more likely to post about a bad experience before a good one... By not posting a good one, some poor guy misses out on a good lay. But if I don't post a bad experience, some other poor bastard gets ripped off too. That's what is most important... not getting ripped off.  That's why this site is intended as a "Consumer reports"... not entertainment to jack off to.

The difference in women enthralls me. A post by Dani mentions a long dinner conversation that was stimulating to her but the path taken was the other fork in the road.

In my mind's eye I see you reading the pulp and pithy prose as your needled skin changes color mirroring your desires. Each vignette has a climax. My words alone may do the same for you.

Reviews, I originally thought that they were cool and I wanted to see my name on one, then the reality took hold.

they do offer precise little snapshots of the moods and actions of the people involved. I can imagine many of them, and the writer of the review often gives out much more information on himself than they realize. the description of the initial meeting, what she wore, what happened. the look the reviewer got when she looked at him with a cigarette in her mouth, priceless.

Honesty in all reviews is the most important factor but YMMV is always a constant RE: bad day, uncomfortable situation etc. What I find of the most interest are the the ones that seem to earn an average overall of 9/9, which means they get a hell of a lot of 10's. In these reviews some of the wording is changed around but the content is pretty much the same which dictates a very superior service. I like to crawl into the gutter as well and read the 2/3 reviews, they have a place in this world too. Overall I must say that this is a wonderful site and gives everyone the opportunity to find whatever is of interest to them at the time.

I usually do not put too much stock in the reviews.  Too many try to be Penthouse Forum letters rather than dealing with the issue at hand, your experience with a certain provider.  I look at reviews to get a grasp of the providers' general attitude and whether we can make some sort of connection.  I do not read the graphic details.
