Troops angry over no-hookers plan

RHEIN-MAIN AIR BASE, Germany, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- U.S. troops stationed in Germany are upset over plans to change the Uniform Code of Military Justice to make paying for sex a punishable offense.

In Germany, unlike other areas of the world where U.S. troops are stationed, prostitution is legal and women who choose the world's oldest profession are taxed like any other workers. They also are given regular health checks.

Pfc. Marty Conyers of the 464th Replacement Detachment on Rhein-Main told the European edition of Stars & Stripes changing the UCMJ would be unfair to troops.

"It would be different if it were some third-world country that had no jobs and no opportunity, and women were forced into it," Army Sgt. Adam Z. Pastor said. "It's a little bit pushy to enforce that law here."

Military wife Dana Molnar advises defense officials to stop fretting over troops's sex lives.

"It seems like we can spend our time worrying about more important things," she told the newspaper.

Guess the military figures that you got f**ked when you joined so that should hold you until you're out.

Why say something like that?  Most people (OK, not all, but most) join the Armed Services because we felt a duty to protect and serve our country.  We understood, going in, that certain appearances and behavior would be expected of us.  Is that how we got "fucked" when we joined?

I'm in the military and have very little sympathy for those who say "I only joined to get money for school" and then got activated.  If you don't want to participate in the lifestyle of the Profession of Arms, then you are in the wrong job.  Period.

Oh, and if people want out, it can always happen.  I've helped many younger folks that wanted out find a way to make it happen.

I have one thing to say, If Kerry is elected to the presidency there won't be any troops to enforce the policy on and we will all be living in a communist country!!

However I agree that the new sex policy stinks, especially for the troops that are stationed in a remote site where family can't accompany them.
