A session can only be so grand and for me anyway, as years have passed, I have found myself willing to go through fewer hoops to hobby. That not only goes for travel time but also how many attempts I will make to contact a provider that is tough to connect with, how much tolerance I will have for cancellations and other pre-meeting surprises, that stuff. As years have passed that stuff at times makes participating a real headache.
I think it is good to keep the hobby in the proper perspective overall. It is not food, water, or shelter, you can live without it, there are other things to do if seeing a girl is not relatively easy or possible at that given time. But the libertarian in me also feels that if one wants to do it on their own then let them have at it. If they want to be an addict then let them be one, it is no concern of mine nor does it have any effect on me. For the record I don't think ram is an addict in this instance, seeing a porn star, or a semi porn star at a escort rate (AD has a reasonable rate, much lower than most PS) is almost like going to a national landmark, it is an experience, to say you have been there, more than just the action. I don't fault you at all, but I just have never been one to try that very often, drive one way for more than the appointment length and then drive back. I did it a few times early on in the hobby and even though I had a good time on those occasions all the time driving, especially coming back, just made me ponder on whether or not it was too much effort for ass.
Plus I had a cancellation once after a lengthy drive to one and as cancellations seemed to increase for me, I was lucky early on in the hobby didn't seem to get them very much, I felt that it was not worth the risk. It is one thing to get a late cancelation if you are right across town, when you drive 2 hours or more it is just anger provoking...lol
But if someone is going to do it then AD is one that would be worth the trouble if one is willing, as I said no one can fault you for it even if they wouldn't drive that far.

There's a distinction, only because of specifics. I think paying for experiences, not stuff, is the only way to approach life. So yeah, I think flying to Denver to go whitewater rafting in the mountains, or flying to the UK to see a band that might never come here, EVER, is worth it... if I have the means.
However, I would hesitate to drive all that way to most likely have to take care of myself, in the end because most girls just don't do it for me. It's sad. I wish I was 17 again, and just excited to have a girl touch my wiener. Now I'm all jaded and particular, and shit.

C'mon now, if someone wants to travel to have a memorable and satisfying hobby experience then that is there own decision and as long as they are getting enjoyment out of it and the positives outweigh the negatives then they are only pathetic in the minds of people who think their way is the only way.
I probably wouldn't travel that far for a hobby date, already said that previously, but at the same time would not knock someone who did. That is the same as knocking someone for spending more than the critic would spend, if they want to do it it is their time and money, not yours.
