If you go to inmate search for the California Dept. of Corrections, he is still behind bars in the Corcoran California State Prison in Central/Northern California. If anyone has watched "Locked Up" on MSNBC, it is a pretty hard core facility. I wonder what became of legendary Sylvia Boots? Is she still in prison, deported or worse? The awful tragedy in front of the Yukon Mining Company destroyed Los Angeles and the vibrant scene has never recovered.
I just tried looking up the Yukon mining company tragedy. It said there was a gas explosion. What does that have to do with Miss Sylvia B?
The Yukon closed but years before a fight started in that parking lot and Silvia ended up getting convicted of shooting another TS at that establishment.
Just as bad...I met up with Vicky a few times, it was so sad to see the way the crime was committed, so senseless....the murderer Kevyn Ramirez I'm sure is in jail by now.
Sylvia Boots, last I checked is still in the California Dept of Corrections facilities but in a hospital ward. I posted about her many years back. I will try to search the board and provide a current update but unless she kicked the bucket, she is still in the medical facility within the California Dept of Corrections.
Found an old thread about her......She is still in prison, 53 years old and has a parole date of 2028. She entered prison based on the CA Dept of Corrections website in 2004. Sounds about right as that was the prime time for the Yuccon Mining Company TS hot spot in WEHO. She is housed in the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, Ca.

It's a tragedy. Sylvia was really something, especially prior to her breast augmentation and hormone usage. I'm lucky I didn't bite the bullet playing around with her.
Yes, Vicky's house got torched and I remember her. That is horrible but recall trying to meet her and she was not pleasant. Regardless, a horrible tragedy to say the least.
Contacted her and set something up. She had an odd attitude upon the 2nd call so went to see Giselle Electra instead.

I posted last year about the arrest of Jesus Catalan, who was a person of interest in the August 2009 killing of 24 year old transwoman Paulina Ibarra in Los Angeles. Turns out there has been some resolution in this case as well.
In a plea agreement, Catalan recently plead guilty in downtown LA's Superior Court to involuntary manslaughter in the Ibarra case and will receive 12 years in prison for it. He will be eligible for parole in 10 years.
That sentence may seem light, but as Karen Ocamb reported in her LBGT POV blog post on the case.
LAPD Lt. Wes Burhmester explained while noting that he could not speak for the prosecutor in the case, the reason for the plea instead of pursuing a murder charge was because the District Attorney must look at being able to prove – beyond a reasonable doubt – to a jury of 12 people that Catalan deserved to be convicted of murder. However, since Catalan had apparently been injured during a struggle with Ibarra, that Ibarra and Catalan knew each other and she was not killed during the course of a felony (like robbery), it would have very hard to prove.
Unfortunately, sometimes that's the way it goes on some of these cases. You've got to have the evidence to convince a jury and make the charge stick.
It's probably not a satisfying conclusion for the Ibarra family and all who loved Paulina, but in this instance the person who committed the crime is at least getting some jail time instead of walking the strees as a free man.
Jesus is still in prison and typically if anyone gets a 12 year sentence, they are eligible for parole after they served 2/3 of their time, including the time they were incarcerated prior to being convicted. He has been behind bars since 2009 and he has not been released yet. Now on the 11th year of being locked up. He must be a handful because my calculation would say he should be out of prison by now and deported back to Mexico. Hope he rots in prison. Paulina was a very nice person.
