Why car maintenance is important.

Here's why...
I went to see an agency girl at a motel on a Sunday evening. Now the motel wasn't the Hilton, but it was an average motel and kinda nice. After a pretty good session with the girl, we kiss and I goto my car in the parking lot parked right in front. I try to start it, but nothing happens. I try again, nothing.

OH SHIT I said, what a time to break down, and right in front of the provider's hotel room. I keep trying and it seemed like the battery, but the parking lot is deserted and I didn't want to ask the desk which would draw attention to what we were doing here. After realizing I was stuck, I didn't want to call anyone I knew to pick me up here, way in the back of a motel.  What would they think?

I knock at her door and tell her the situation, and we both kinda laughed. The one time and place to break down. Luckily I am not married and currently don't have a girl friend (duh.) so it wasn't as bad as it could've been, but I can only imagine having to call your wife and tell her to pick you up there. Things could be alot worse.

Anyway, to make a long story short, my battery was dead, I called AAA and they couldn't jump it since it was completely dry, so I tipped the guy 20 bucks to tow it across the street in a supermarket parking lot since everything else was closed. I eventually called someone I knew and said I broke down near the supermarket and needed to be picked up.

The most interesting part was waiting in my car for AAA to arrive and seeing 2 other customers go in and out of the hotel room. I always wondered what other guys looked like.

The moral is, make sure you car is well maintained, or you can get stuck in that situation. Your significant other might become a little suspicous, you think?

Other guys look just like you don't they!  :)

And imagine what the manager sees everyday at the hoel. Do you think they don't know what is going on?  they do and they don't mind because it makes them money too.

Car maintenance is important for hobbyists. but you can always catch a cab.

It is just as important for the providers to keep their motors in shape too. I mean I don't do many out-calls to hotels (thanks SD LE), but it could be bad for us to in the department of oh shits.
There is also the other side to the safety thing as well. What if we needed to get out of the place fast for our own good (not cash and dash silly) but if something was really not right where we were going? The last thing I would want is my auto dead. Well I guess I could hire Guido to drive me too? Just a thought.
Safe and happy motoring!

Cheers!

went in ... they did when they came out.... SMILING!!!

One night I met with an extraordinary woman at a hotel and when I came out I searched everywhere for my car and with an increasingly sinking feeling I realised my car was gone!

It was raining and very dark but no doubt about it...my car was stolen...at least that's what I thought until I finally figured out I came out the wrong door and was in the parking lot on the OTHER side of the hotel...my car was in fact still there in the other lot...I was soaking wet but soooo relieved

I blame the lady...she had so befuddled me with her charms I made a wrong turn to my car....yeah that's the ticket! :)~

a provider in an area where I have no other reason to be.  How would I explain a stolen or boken into car parked in front of an apartment building in Hollywood or motel in Santa Monica?  Ah yes, we hobbyists like the thrill of adventure, don't we?

Fortunately, I work in hotels on a regular basis, and I can always say I was on a site survey for a gig.  I have used that as an excuse to disappear at odd hours.  But that would suck.

in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I went in the porn shop to look around, came back out and my POS Buick Skylark wouldn't start. The guy inside wouldn't let me use the phone. I ended up a couple of doors away, and had to tell the AAA guy, I'm in front of the XXX Porn Shop. All I remember was that it was on Progress Avenue, and that the towtruck driver pronounced "Progress" funny.

I had just bought this used Porsche, and needed to get it insured. Well my insurance is with triple A, and I needed to take it there to have them take pictures of my new motor, and get all the papperwork in order. Well as it turns out it was raining outside and somehow the ignition got wet and the auto would not start for me.
So I went back inside and had to ask them to call AAA for me to get a hook to the garage. Talk about the irony of that! OH WELL! I thought it rather funny.

Cheers, and happy motoring!
