Talent Testing has been getting a lot of hype on these boards. The big red flag though is they don't test you for herpes so its not something I personally would use.

Where does one go to get STD testing in the valley without a doctor's lab order?  I did a quick search and found that Sonora Quest does it, but they charge $268.   I never had one done before, is this really what this sort of thing should cost?  Are there clinics that just do it for a more reasonable price?  I am just throwing this question out there, any helpful advice would be appreciated regarding where to go and what it should cost.  Thanks.

Maricopa County Health Clinic on Roosevelt and 16th Street will do a panel of tests for $20. I think they open at 8am. It's good to get there early. Good luck!

Hey Gina, old friend Greg..send me an email.

New service from Theranos.  They are generally located inside Walgreens and you do not need a RX for the test.

Cost varies from what test you want but a full workup (Chlamydia/Gonorrhea/HIV/Hep C) is about $60.

You can get an App on your phone for them and the results are on your phone within 48 hrs.

Herpes I and II are not reportable diseases and are not done for the routine STD panel.  If you want them included it drives up the cost quite a bit.

It is not that I think I have an STD, I asked this question because I have come to the realization that it is prudent to get tested regularly anyway for the benefit of myself others.  It is just one of the overhead costs being in this hobby world or the civvie dating world for that matter, even when you use "protection" all the time, and I had no idea where to go to get this sort of testing done for a reasonable cost.  These replies were very helpful.  Thank you.

I've used both in LA and Phoenix. Getting tested here in Phoenix through one of the companies will run you about $200 or so but you get the test results back within two days through email and have multiple lab locations you can choose from.

Talent Testing has a few locations & charges about $130

I should go where you are going! Through TTS I pay $155 for the test, $35 for the shipping fee and $25 for the lab draw fee. I wish TTS or CET would open a headquarters facility in Phoenix so that I wouldn't have to pay the shipping and lab draw fee. Fortunately I do receive some money back from the Free Speech Coalition when testing through TTS.

That makes absolutely no sense, especially if their thing is testing for professionals, and charging rather big fees for it?  They can do a PCR test for HSV and have an answer in less than 90min.   Damn.  My inner nerd shows his nerdy head...

Talenttesting.com is what a lot of adult actors and actresses use.  Their pricy however, there's a reason for that.  The test you get from a free clinic, health department, your family doctor, etc. are ok however, they DO miss viruses.  That's why your told told to test frequently.  Their not top quality tests.  When I was shooting, I wouldn't film with anyone that showed up with a test from their doctor or local health department, it's just too dangerous. It HAD to be from one of the only 2 testing services the industry uses.  The chances of missing the virus are lower.  It takes a bit longer for your results and the cost is higher however, the way I see it, I have a lot to live for.  I'm worth the extra money.  So are you.
