The newbie asks a question. Someone gives him bad advice. I correct it in my post and mine gets "randomly moderated"! That isn't acceptable. The newbie has to wait for something he needs. Not a big deal if the other poster hadn't been so wrong.

I agree that "random moderation" can be annoying and about as useful as pulling the 90 year old lady out of line for "random extra security" in an airport.
...recently though I've had the edited/modified post held too. Usually I just wait it out. This time it was important. That took my patience.

I will admit, back in the day I most likely would have moderated the poster of that very dangerous advice just to make sure that no future posts like that would go live without someone to correct him immediately. There has always been a problem with people on both this board and the Legal board giving out advice that they obviously were not qualified to give, but it seems like more and more posts like this seem to slip through the cracks now the board/s are mainly moderated through RAP.

What I meant was that RAP is reactive, and in the past moderators were proactive.
Under the current system posts like this "slip through the cracks" on a pretty regular basis as no one is stopping them BEFORE they go live. More wannabe mods like you will only help remove them quicker, not stop them in the first place.
