Phoenix

Am I missing something? Have things changed?

I have been here in Phoenix now for a good number of years and don't remember it being like it is now..... guys posting vague wants/desires and expecting the girls to contact them.

I thought it was .... the guys know what they like, search for it, then contact the lady.

Has the hobby changed? Or all these latest postings the guys just being lazy? Not trying to be rude but just don't understand.
How can one know exactly what the guys type/desires/likes are?

An analogy would be: I post I want to know of a good place to eat on the east side. But that is all I put. I don't indicate type, price range, location, etc. How can anyone help if they don't know details?

I understand asking for recommendations but lately it seems the guys want the ladies to contact them?

Please help me understand. Again, not being rude or trying to put anyone down. Just trying to understand this obviously new style in Phoenix.

I don't think it is being lazy, but with tweeting etc...communication has sped up.  Often ladies don't return voicemail, texts, or emails in a timely manner.  It doesn't seem to have to with rates, reviews, or where they advertise, it's a common problem.  One thing for sure, if a provider replies to these posts, they are interested in meeting.  Assume 5-10 providers respond to a post on this board through the PM system, it could save a hobbyist not familiar with Phoenix a lot of time.  Providers miss a lot of potential business by not answering their phones and most have full VM or it's not setup, they change their phone #s too often and don't update their websites.  Schedules on Website are there for a purpose, to show availability and most ladies don't use this tool either.

This is just a symptom of modern day America....  Lazy, lazy, Give it to me now...I want instant gratification.  Unfortunately the younger generation is used to having things handed to them as soon as they make their desires known.  You see it when hobbyists ask for references for ladies when all they have to do is spend a few minutes searching.   I'm older, obviously, and will stop now instead of going on a real rant!   Thanks for listening.

You've read my mind with this one!
I was JUST thinking the exact same thing. It's soo weird, but it's definitely becoming a new trend. Everywhere I see, "Looking for GFE outcall tonight..contact me"...."Looking for blonde available now...contact me".

I can understand if guys are getting sick and tired of contacting women and hearing we're not available, but they have to know they aren't really getting the best of the best? Not every woman who is going to be available is going to be sitting on TER refreshing the discussion board to see who wants us to message them

That trend is also happening on the Minnesota Board. Also, more and more 411 type posts with guys basically asking others to do their homework for them I guess. And some use aliases while others haven't added to the Board with reviews of their own and/or have no Whitelists.  I travel to Phoenix periodically and so read the Phoenix Board as well. Interesting similarities.

Great and timely post Misty.  Have been scratching my head (no not the little one) lately wondering about this latest trend.

pm'd a P411 provider for 2 hr. rate, got response.  Then submitted an appointment request at 10 pm for following day. followed up at Noon next day leaving voice mail message, no response.  BTW, it was a young provider...

and I try to keep up with all of the various boards as much as I can. I have been seeing this ALL over the place and not just on TER either.

I agree with some of the points made in this thread regarding the difficulty of receiving responses in a timely fashion as well as the social media age.

I will say that I always assumed that ISO threads were for last minute/same day gents who did not want to bother ladies with inquiries if they were pre-book only. Or gents who were looking for a specific thing which may not be indicated in the reviews/profile (physical attributes, activities, etc.) Perhaps, my assumption was incorrect.

Good points. Also, the ISO board is there to serve the function for specific requests.  But from what I've read here over time it doesn't work so the regional boards are used. I tried the ISO board awhile ago and received zero responses, so I quit using it.

So I have said this many times that Phoenix has some of the best providers in the country.

The problem is the laws in this state for our hobby are the worst.

Also people should do their own research but we should not forget this is a information site too!

Just take a look at the Las Vegas broad and it's a big difference how information is answered from providers over there.

I only see providers here that have been around a long time and know the area.

It's one thing to be careful and another to forget why TER is here.

I got to the point where its almost easier for them to text their availability to you. that way its not a  dozen text back and forward and they sometimes Maje the desired time slot.
It always has and always will amaze me how, (pick and excuse)  one can be late to earn money :-

and intimidating texters with responses that say
"this is illegal and we now have your number" who would want to deal with that? Plus, you NEVER know exactly who is texting.

I get it that times are changing BUT this is still a very personal situation and I personally do not and will not text. It leaves a trail and you can never be sure exactly who is texting...perhaps even the wife who found the hubby's phone, LE even, etc.

So if you are comfortable with that - great. But not me, even if I lose business. I care for the personal touch of actually talking with someone and above all, my safety.

they are just lazy. Do the research, know what you want and them make the ask. Not too complicated...

I kinda noticed this a little this morning, but until I read your post, I hadn't really paid much attention. I went and took a look at some of the requests and also noticed that many of the requestors have done zero reviews (so new here? I think one was even using an alias)...this seems really odd to me, can we chalk it up to "laziness"?

;)

It's the influence of social media and crowdsourcing. "I need someone to do (fill in the blank). Who do you know?" Depending upon the need, I may use Twitter, I may use Facebook. I may use LinkedIn.  I may use some other venue.  I can spend hours and hours in research.  On the other hand, someone in my universe already has exactly the answer I need.  So instead of doing hours and hours of research, I throw the question out to the universe, and the universe provides the answer.

As a result, everyone's buying experience is undergoing a paradigm shift.  It is the future.  Get used to it.

I take all that has been said here very seriously..thank you for the input..i like to work in advance so as to not have any disruptions w/ plans.
I have tried to set up appts 1 week in advance..i don't get a response for a day or two...then its too late to schedule w/another lady....

so what is our choice?  to contact 2-3 providers and then cancel ...that's not very nice..
if I work 30 days in advance, I get ignored completely, asked to contact 1 week in advance ..or....not able to schedule due to other engagements..reviews (though not many, as I don't want  a high profile), whitelisted (waiting for approval) and p411(13) verified.  deposits aren't an issue (except w/ one high profile provider)...

calenders are out of date..phone numbers don't work..etc...this is a service business, as I am in one alos...yet...I wouldn't dare let messages go unanswered....v

just what do you ladies want?...sigh..i am trying ...as I am sure several other hobbyists are....

I am standing here w/ my wallet.. thank you so much for letting me vent......

the ladies in the valley are the best...

So every business has to changed with the times or they will get left behind.

It's a new way of doing things by facebook, texting and twitter etc.

The age things comes into play when the newer hobbyist like doing things this way and the older hobbyist don't like it so much.

Also I know each state is different but some areas are more into technology than other areas.

I guess it's up to each provider but times are changing now!

If you don't want others to know about our business communication it's always a delete button too.

are first time reviews for providers on BP that do not have their own websites, and are not on any verification sites? There is a correlation here.

In times past Webcentric hobbying was sort of a different realm than what happened on the streets. Different players, different customs, etc, and you had to be "in the know" and even act with even a certain decorum to be part of, and to function in this realm.

In the past few years, street culture has moved more onto BP, those players are becoming more aware of TER and its ilk. Often they just step right in and start typing at their keyboard, thinking there is just one big homogenous world of P4P. They have no any idea as they are doing, so they stick out like a sore thumb.

I think that is what you are seeing, Misty. Personally, I don't think it's a good thing.
