What a sight to see; trees & powerlines down everywhere you look. We got our power back on around 10am or so Tuesday, phone lines came on then too. Still no cable yet, so I can't see the widespread damage. But know it's horrible all across the state. 19 deaths reported as of about 11am today.

I am amazed at not only the power of the storm and the damage it caused, but more so by the people who came in from all over to help put us back together. A HUGE thanks to the men and women working in the tree service, power lines, phone companies and everyone else who has lent a hand. I've seen trucks from Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, even Houston Texas. People who don't know any of us, yet they have been here working day and night, through the rain and storms that have follwed in the wake of Hurricane Charley, just so we could get back normal again. Thank you! We also have the National Guard around, and the sherrif is making rounds here in the park to assure no one is looting.

As for us, we suffered very minor damage to the mobile. Lost the skirting around the southeast side, the trim around the top on the south side, the TV antenna, and the two foot overhang on the back of the shed. We were very fortunate. Others have lost entire roofs, overroofs are gone, screen rooms, Florida rooms, car ports are gone. And I mean GONE, not laying the yard somewhere. There are downed trees and powerlines all over the place, stacks of aluminum line the streets, and the debris is a mess anywhere you look. Thankfully, we all survived here in this area, and weren't hit as bad as others.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts, prayers and concern. Especially Sassy, who called me to check up on us ... and to Anneke. Sweetie, yes, I'll be seeing you very soon indeed. Less than 30 lbs. from now to be exact. My love back to you both.

Enjoying the AC once again,
Jimbo

I think the worst thing you said in your thread was the implication of being without AC for a day in Florida in August!

Seriously, tho', Jimbo...glad y'all are okay.  Someone suggested you have another one coming soon maybe.  I sure hope not.

for each other. everything is back and my son helped clean up the trees. My dad is still out of power.

Glad to hear it was no worse for you buddy.  One feels for all the victims, of course, but I guess it's only natural to be most concerned for the people you know personnaly.

Best of luck!

It's good to hear that you faired well through yet another form of natures unpredictable wrath.

Continued good luck to you and yours

devastation. You had to see it to believe it.
Yet several miles away, only a little wind damage.
Many lost their lives, too.
Nature's fury.

Tell about a path of destruction like a 10-mile wide tornado.
