...just don't be a dick about it.

Some girls like being called a bitch when they're talking dirty, some girls don't. It's the same thing, really. It's just not a word you sling around carelessly unless you want to get slapped.

I have recently been reading that referring to girls as trannys is derogatory.  I have been enjoying these women for years now and i had no idea that term was insensitive.  What is the appropriate term?

Lots of my Gay friends who are friend with TS girls, they keep using it, from what I see, people use the word Tranny when they are being provocative and use it as an insult similar to F word N word, it seem OK if you are in that community, but not ok for anyone else. Maybe depend on how, who say it.

Transvestite also derogatory word use in Latin America.

The appropriate term would be Transgender, Trans Girl, or just simply TS Girl.

Also the word CIS ( cisgender ) is a new term which I'm still studying it, I still don't get it.
Cisgender is Essentially the opposite of transgender; whereas transgender people are those whose gender and assigned sex at birth don't match up, cisgender people are those whose gender and assigned sex at birth are the same.

Hope that help!

my  opinion

being open minded words are words they are meaningless unless they are put in to good words or words that is use into action to demean or degrade person

If you absolutely have to specify what kind of lady they are, 'trans woman/lady/girl' is pretty much a safe bet, the same way you'd use any other adjective ;)

Language is constantly changing and not even consistent, especially when it comes to gender and sex. Just look at the way "gay" or "queer" has changed over the decades. I'm not sure if there is one term that's always OK all the time. I think the key is just to be mindful and respectful.

"Tranny" can be very patronizing and objectifying especially when used flippantly, but not everyone finds it offensive. Sometimes I use it to refer to myself or a friend in an affectionate sort of way. But I'm a tranny. Like Asian-Gee said: along the same lines as the F-word or the N-word, unless you're a 'tranny' yourself, you probably shouldn't just throw the word around.

Shemale and if you watch TS movies that are older, then you get into the phrase "vintage shemale".  :)

LOL, never heard such a thing as Vintage Shemale, I never watch shemale movie, I'm not attracted to myself LOL

1970's hot vintage shemale porn!!!!  Cheezy music, out of control hair sprayed do's, and uncontrollable and unmanaged pubic hair......

Those were the good ole days :)  LOL.

Sulka's Wedding - Ron Jeremy get a BJ from an Asian Ladyboy, bangs Sulka's new man-made box also. The films is a sexual melange, where TS and CIS females are all normal and available. A true shot on film classic, especially looking at it these days (no condoms, etc) and Sharon Mitchell at her nasty best.  Back then, Tom Byron did a scene and photo set with TS "Susie", and no one blinked and eye. It was very non-judgmental compared to what we see since leading up to today, where tolerance is in short supply and name calling and sexual ego issues are tabloid fodder for the ignorant LCD crowd as well as people who should know better also...

What a coincidence, I'm not attracted to myself either.  Then again, I'm pretty sure they don't make many "Vintage fat old guy" labeled videos.

How about lady, chic , honey , fox

I like the sound of the word.  I've been with multiple providers who referred to themselves as a tranny or their cock as a tranny cock while talking dirty.  I wish it wasn't considered derogatory.

Dirty talk is different...isn't it encouraged to use words that are taboo or derogatory during dirty talk? That's kinda part of the fun, no? I vote for a moratorium on not using the word tranny while engaged in dirty talk!

Yeah, fair enough. I think you have to know the person a bit before you're both comfortable with this sort of thing.
I would *never* be a dick! ;)

i think it is at least for me and some other girls i know best word is a tgirl
if you call her tranny then you should be ok with others calling you tranny chaser ;)

Tgirl still sounds close to  "Tranny" which i assume is considered short slang for transexual.
the GLT community may have to decide what term feels comfortable for transgender ..and stay with it.
" Shemale " term was based off transgendered stars in porn. and now even the more popular
TS sites and video studios have patented that term ( i.e. Shemale Yum) i never care for that one
and hoping that word is phased out, but then you heard others like " Ladyboy"  term and then  "tranny."   More so you see it (tranny)  more often in personal ads.  So it doesn't seem like it's even   phased out in the trangender community yet.
