Just hobby safely. How hard is that? Just accept appointment requests from gentlemen who are vetted thru trusted services like P411 or DateCheck and feel free to add your own additional levels of scrutiny if you feel the need.
Phoenix has no more or less LE activity than any other major US city and all this hand wringing and 'the sky is falling' mentality is just weird, really weird. SMH  SMH  SMH

I'm not a local hobbyist but I visit PHX often because I find it to be as safe and as successful as any other city I visit. Phoenix is my favorite city for hobbying. So, c'mon down and feel the warmth of the valley!

To everyone that commented Thank You! CaramelBBW, I really appreciate your insight. Drumsticks, I actually was a highly rated travel girl that worked most of the east coast about ten years ago. I only did one tour to PHX back then. Since then I went on to school and started my career. Now I am living in Arizona and have returned to New England as a provider. I was just wondering if I should consider something a little closer to home. The long winded answer regarding being a newbie.

I think that with a healthy amount of safety and common sense, you will be just fine.  
There's a lot of common sense things to do:
1) Screen, and Verify.  
2) Don't use explicit language in advertising.
3) Be very, very, cautious if you use BP for anything.
4) There are a number of other places to get yourself out to the community (TER, P411 advertising among others).  
5) Trust the little hairs on the back of your neck when dealing with potential visitors, especially outcall locations.  

Be safe and enjoy the visit.

It is true that we currently have an overzealous LE effort in the Phx Area. However, if a person is not reckless and verifies information you should be fine. I would not advertise on BP. The super bowl will attract more attention temporarily. Good Luck and welcome to AZ

After much thought and taking all of your advice to heart, I truly believe I should just hold off until the Spring time. I completely agree with everyone's thoughts of insuring that we properly verify, just as it is always recommended to the gentleman to see established providers.

I only tend to "work" one week a month at max. I am starting to think April or May just might work out better. Is there anything I should know of regarding those two months? I have also been informed of the "local" PHX forum, does that seem to be a better avenue? I do not nor plan on utilizing BP for anything, but thank you for the information regarding it.
