I've had mixed results w/ rentals in France. Love the French, but the real estate biz is the real estate biz.
Folks,
Thought I would seek advice from the community on trying to find a nice short term (week or less) apartment rental in Paris, France.
I would like to stay in center city (1e to 8e). Tried most of the easily findable websites and most decent units are booked (I'm going soon). Looking for a more Parisienne experience - buy baguettes around the corner, eat at a cafe, shop a little (the SO), drink a lot of Vin, etc. will also play tourist since it is my first visit to the city of light.
Anybody have a special little place may be off the beaten path (at least not directly on the infomation superhighway)? Would appreciate your help.
thanks - Silk (b/c if you need to)
p.s. - Incidentally, there is a british outfit called yourstay.com that is a rip off and scam (bait and switch) specialist in the vacation rentals business. I almost booked with them, but was suspicious and checked around the net - sure enough, my gut was right, yourstay.com is bogus.
Paris Holiday Rentals or Paris Holiday Apartments some such thing I beleive. I used them about 2 years ago, but the apartment was fantastic. I stayed in a one bedroom near the Louve and was in heaven the whole time. (33) 1-40-13-97-55
