This was in the news today.  I redacted all real names but left in the stage names.  As far as I know, the provider who is mentioned in this article is not a reviewed provider.  This is a sobering reminder for both clients and providers to always screen each other, and to be aware who you are even opening your door to, when someone is knocking on your door.  

AVONDALE, Ariz. -- What started with an illicit meeting ended with an armed robbery that put an escort behind bars and has police searching for two men and a large chunk of cash.

Police arrested *** *** *** on Wednesday after a tryst took an unexpected turn for an Avondale man.

"(I) got an escort. She came over. We had our fun and she left without me knowing. She up and walked out of the door," said 25-year-old *** ***, who hired ***.

The man said he connected with ***, who was going by the name Melissa, via Backpage.com in October. After agreeing to a fee of $200 for an hour, he invited her to his home where he lives with his parents.

Once their business was concluded, the victim said "Melissa" left, but texted him that she was going to get high and wanted to come back. When she returned a short time later, two men were with her. One of them was armed.

"The first words out of (one of the suspect's mount was) 'Where's the safe?' I tried stalling. I'm thinking, 'What safe? 'What's that? And he said, 'Dude, don't play with me. I'll blow your brains out right now. Where's the safe?'" recalled ***.

The men took a safe that held $100,000 in casino winnings. The victim's mother is a professional gambler and provided police with photos and tax documents. The victim said the men also ransacked his parents' room and took several other items.

The victim described "Melissa" to police and explained that she told him she worked at an exotic dance club in Glendale.

Police tracked the woman to a club named Xplicit, where the manager identified her as *** *** of El Paso, TX. Her stage name was Motivation.

"She seemed like a nice girl, to be honest," *** *** said. "She's only been here maybe a month and only came in maybe once or twice a week."

When investigators found a Texas driver license photo of *** ***, the person they discovered looked nothing like the victim's description.

With the help of El Paso police, detectives learned that the real *** *** reported her wallet stolen in February 2012. She said she only recently learned that her stolen identity was being used in Phoenix.

Using the address on her employee application at Xplicit, police identified *** and confirmed it with fingerprints from an arrest in January, when she was picked up during an undercover prostitution sting.

The victim picked her out of a photo array, telling police *** was the woman he hired and who subsequently robbed him.

*** now faces not only a misdemeanor prostitution charge, but also felony charges of armed robbery with a deadly weapon, first-degree burglary and identity theft.

Police are still looking for her two accomplices, as well as the stolen money.
