Divas is in the Tenderlion district of San Francisco. If you go, take a taxi and walk straight in and when you leave do the same. I wouldn't walk around that area unless you want to be robbed or just enjoy making conversation with junkies and street walkers.

Going to SF next weekend and have a night to myself. Was hoping to be able to grab a drink and have a nice time after. Any recommendations as to who and where to meet? Is there a nice bar (other than Diva's which I read is in a sketchy neighborhood) that I can go to?

I didn't think the neighborhood was that bad. At least not where Divas is. If you wander a few blocks off it got a bit sketchy, but still not that bad IMO. I had tons of fun there...

Wow dude. I bet you tuck your t-shirts in and wear black socks with shorts, too. Have just a *little* street acumen and you'll be fine. There are people of all sorts in that area, not just junkies and street walkers. Everybody who goes to a neighborhood like that doesn't automatically get robbed and killed. Sheesh, the fear. It's totally worth it...
