END OF MESSAGE

see me on the starting line.

You can watch and guess who I am!    One lady on this board will know when she sees me but she'll keep it secret.

Everyone is excited and impressed (and rightly so!) at Jimmie Johnson's 4 NASCAR championships.  How about Tony Schumacher's 6 STRAIGHT Top Fuel World Championships?!!!

If you have a bad lap in NASCAR, well you can make it up.  In drag racing, you snooze, you lose.  Very unforgiving racing.

Never really got into the quarter mile racing, but having been to a few events they are exciting.  After all the spinal injuries and surgeries can't do head ot head racing anymore, no more autocross or stuff on the track, but rallies, that I can do.  Next race for me is the Mountain Mille, 1000 miles through the Blue Ridge in a 72 TR-6 and we might enter a second car, a 68 MGB.  250 miles a day and some nice overnight locations.

Can a vintage British 2 seater make it that far through the mountains?  I sure hope so, it is a long way to push the car if (when) it breaks.  Guess I will have to sacrifice a virgin or something to Lucas (aka the prince of darkness) just to be on the safe side.

beautiful day in Pomona.  Light winds and almost 70 degrees.   The weekend is forecasted to be warmer.     The best run was Robert Hight's funny car pass of 4.05 ...a rocket.  The defending world champion is off to a good start.  Of  course it's just the first run of 4 qualifying passes.  We'll see.

Ford returned to Pro Stock racing after a long absence.  Larry Morgan's new Mustang looks good but will need some clutch tuning.

I forgot who...but an A/Fuel dragster today ran 5.24!  Wow!

Many hot, hot women.  Not that I'm looking. Duh!
