I spent many years playing in the snow.  AZ has it all.  Mi familia is all over Arizona

The wonderful list of things listed in thread below remind me that there are still some things around that are still good.

Obviously the fine gentlemen who posted below as well as:

1. Stockyards restaurant
2. Pete's Fish and Chips
3. Durant's
4. Big Surf
5. Rawhide but new location - so not true what we remember as being out in the middle of nowhere
6. Monti's La Casa
7. Pinnacle Peak Patio - it too used to be out in the middle of nowhere
8. Sugar Bowl
9. Rock Springs Cafe
10. El Charro

What other things am I forgetting?

And the one thing I miss the most is "Snow".
Remember that shaved ice shack across from ASU on Rural north of Apache. It got torn down and a coffee place is there now. But those were great...especially when you added alcohol :).

Thanks everyone for the wonderful memories. Glad I am not alone in reminiscing about the "good ole days".

Luckily, I live in N. Central and have irrigation and still get the perfume in the spring mornings.
Not quite the same as driving down Northern towards Peoria and having miles of orchards.

How about surfing across someone's irrigated front yard?

Around august when I start to feel fed-up with HOT, I remind myself any day it doesn't snow is a good day. I don't have to shovel HOT, it's not slippery to drive in, and it doesn't disrupt parking in cities.

in this thread I was trying to list places that are STILL in and in operation that have been around for 40 plus years.

Thanks for the list though,

Always fun to share the memories of the "good ole days" here in Phx.

I was not talking about the cold, wet stuff that you have to shovel and has only happened here in Phoenix a couple of times. But I was talking about a place, a little shack that was right next to ASU that sold shaved ice. The place and stuff was called snow.

It was around for many, many years. Any one who has been around, especially if went to ASU knew of this place. They used fresh fruit too. It was really good.

Back when Manzanita Hall was the tallest building in Tempe, and Rundle's dominated Mill/University-booze on one side, porno on the other.

I miss the old days in Tempe/ASU...so little of the smaller, sleazier, much more fun Valley still exists.
