Re: Maybe for one or two games, but over the long run? Doubtful.

You're correct about the long run. But the more games they can win without him, the stronger they'll be in the stretch run and the playoffs. The reserves will get added experience and build up stamina, the starters can get more rest, and the rotation will be deeper.

Very interesting.  When Gasol was out, the Spurs smashed on the Laker's.  When Kobe was out the Spurs were smashed by the Laker's.  Funny huh??  Interesting to say the least :D

contribution. I saw a clip on Sportscenter that 4 other Lakers scored at least 5 points over their season average. Bynum was out last night too. I still don't think he and Gasol are a good match down low. They tend to get in each others way and clog up the middle.

You also have to look at who they are playing.  The Spurs are WAY past their prime.  With Kobe and Bynum out, they would not even make a game against Cleveland.

Let them sit Kobe, Gasol, and Bynum all they want now.  As long as they have the top seed in the west come May, it does not really matter how many games the win.  When the Lakers are healthy, there is not a team in the league that can beat them in a series (just like the 80's Laker teams).
