I always use google picture scan to discover if the picture has been taken from the net. I google the phone number and look to see if I can find reviews.

About the only way to try and defeat someone else using your pixs is to impregnate the pix with your number.

While acquainting myself with TER & reading all of the posts in this forum about fake pics/scammers in PHX I decided to image search my ad pics... all I can say is

GRRRRRRRR!!

I found that several of my pics are being used in other states as well as one PHX provider. I found a recent ad in Texas & messaged the provider politely asking for her to remove my picture from her ad. The response really left a bad taste in my mouth. The responses were in all caps (we know what that means), & contained a combination of ghetto/insulting language.

I do not understand how me requesting you not to use MY pic, that was taken with MY camera, to falsely represent yourself to clients should ever be met with such hostility!!!

How do clients decide who the real girl is when there are others using pics stolen from her ads??

TER profiles under appearance have one of the items "pictures" and there are options to select. Not sure of the exact wording, but something like "real" and "unreal".  As hobbyist you can always back channel with a reviewer and ask about the pictures.  Hobbyist also you google/image or tineye to verify pictures.

Scan the regional boards and you will see providers complaining all the time about stolen pictures.  Being nice in asking the person who stole them to stop, as you now realize doesn't work.  Check the legal board for remedies to your problem

Finally consider watermarking all your pictures.

If you maintain the same working number you could superimpose that number over your pics making them very hard to steal.
PM me if you would like some tips on how to do that.

Most of the time the pics are stolen and used by others on BP.  Contact the owner of BP and he is awesome at removing them immediately.
Do this with all the sites that you found them on and I am sure they will accommodate your request as well.
Unfortunately, it is something that we all have to deal with and we always get the same response from the lovely offenders :)!
Take care and have a great summer!

I checked for a website or some affirmation into the community and found none, just a few camera pics. Although I find this aggravating as well, I find it strange with only one review to suddenly have this issue and topic, BUT don't mind me I simply question everyone these days. Even more so because the pictures are simply blurry camera phone pics ?

But yes, It happens. You can try watermarking.

I am new to TER :) but have been a provider for a little over a year now. I am still learning! I had no idea until recently that there was a place that providers could go to talk to each other/get advice. I know that I am new to TER/only have one review but I have to start somewhere just like anyone else!

Honestly this isn't a new problem but I had no idea how prevelant pic stealing was until I discovered how to image search.  I discovered a provider in PHX who had taken a pic of mine completely by accident many months ago but she removed the pic when I requested. Thought that was the end of it lol

I actually prefer my camera phone pics, I believe it shows that I am real :)
What you see is what you get.

I prefer to see camera phone self-pics too. I really hate the professional glamour pictures or other "too good to be true" pictures. A self-pic doesn't guarantee the shot wasn't stolen, but I feel there is a much lower probability that it wasn't stolen.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Azlover I will PM you, id love to take care of this so it isn't a problem anymore.
