don't worry about screening because you are new in town.  The locals want to give you a welcome gift.  If you like 18 year old hotties, even better.  They might ask you to bring smokes and covers, but it's all good.   It's just all part of that Scottsdale service hospitality that former Mayor Mary Manross has worked hard to focus on.

Look for the ones in the blue uniforms with the star on their shirt.
They usually have a pistol on their right hip but some of them maybe switch hitters so don't let that fool you.

Advice.

Do not piss them off or go outside with anything that looks like a weapon

And if you're in Scottsdale definitely don't go outside holding a child: your own or especially anyone else's! Don't ask them to repeat their instructions when all of them are screaming at you at once. If some group who sound like a war party and don't identify themselves  are at your door at 2 am and you prudently take your weapon with you to see what all the fuss is about- don't!! The more civic minded citizens simply shoot themselves and then call the Scottsdale PD and politely wait.
