Completely agree with you. Wasn't defending BDJ, just letting everyone know the "sitch".

There are _no_ excuses for shitty service. And yes, it is reprehensible that different clients get treated differently, but that's how it is.

Of the agencies I've dealt with, BDJ is absolutely the worst in the phone department. Experiences like 67dc's are far too common. But like I said, she get's away with it because of the talent working for her.

If her girls were as "customer-service" oriented as the appointment-making staff, BDJ would have been out of business a long time ago.

I am writing so that others can be aware of this situation and hopefully avoid the same fate at me.  I called for an appointment with a BDJ Provider.  The lady on the line indicated that the provider was not in yet, and that she would call me back with details, i.e. what hotel, etc.  within an hour or so.  I wanted an appointment for 4 p.m.  She said she would call me by 1:30.

She called me back at 3:40 and 4:20 about a possible 4 p.m. appointment.  Because some of us are on tight schedules, when I did not receive a call anywhere near the time indicated, I went into a meeting and could not answer the phone.  No message was left.  In my view, the scheduler completely blew the appointment I tried to make.

At 11p.m. (in front of my wife) the phone rings with the BDJ number.  I do not answer (still hard to expain why I am getting calls at 11p.m.)  This morning I get a voicemail that says that I NO SHOWED!  I can't no show when I am not even told where to go.  I bet the scheduler didn't tell the "powers that be" over at BDJ that she didn't call back and never told me where to go.  So now, they want to strike me from the books, never to call again.

This is sad because the providers at BDJ are generally nice women who provide a good service.  I am ticked because bad customer service made this happen.  If people from BDJ are out there, let's see if you read and respond.  If not, all you hobbyists, be careful and I will report if there is a response.

Wow.. All I can say is having a provider or agency call back many hours later is pretty bad.  You'd think common sense would keep them from doing that, especially when they all have to call back with info.

On the other hand, using a phone # at your house is probably asking for trouble.  What if she left a rather incriminating message on an answering machine set to monitor incoming calls.?  There'd be hell to pay for that.. Use a cell phone that you can turn off when not in use.  Better yet, get a Trax phone that's disposable.!

similar schedule issue..set up and confirmed; on arrival told I'd not confirmed and girl was gone...accompanied by attitude.  the wife thing blows, another reason not to walk the aisle - why bother when there's plenty of no strings tang out there in the first place!

They called my cell phone.  I forgot to turn it off when I entered the house, so here I am at 11 p.m. going to be and my cell starts to ring.  I guess I need to make sure to hit that button as I pass through the door. :)

i just leave my cell in the car on the charger.. Rarely use it unless im either in the car or going somewhere FROM the car.

If it rings in the car, who's going to notice? !  If you're going to have a hobby while married, then you have to take precautions!

Oh yea, make sure the wife doesn't know your passcode to listen to voicemail!

I just called BDJ to talk to someone.  The person on the phone told me that even though they said they would call me back it was my resposibility to call back.  You know, all we do is sit in a quiet room waiting for their calls!!  We don't have lives, work, etc.  In short, she said it was my fault that they didn't call back and she HUNG UP on me.

Well guys, this is a perfect example of bad service.  I hate that the good ladies of BDJ will suffer from the bad attitudes on the phone.  I won't bother calling them back.  I will let you know if someone contacts me.  I guess some people forget you get your clients one at a time.  However, you can lose them in droves if something goes bad.

I have never been able to make an appointment with a BDJ gal because they always "get sick" or no-show to the city.

I've given up trying.  Why put up with the higher fees and attitude of the agency?  Life's too short.

The girls answering at BDJ are pretty much airheads who blame you when they screw up.  I've experienced it twice too many with them.

I had a similar problem with them... in short they sent me to the wrong room... I knocked and a woman answered the door... She was attractive and I said "is so and so here?" she didn't have to answer because the look on her face was enough... you can imagine what happened next... I felt like such a slug... it was awful... when I called back they tried to say it was me... but I am sorry 1001 isn't 428 in any strech of the english language... so the girl she was booked for the next hour I didn't want to go ahead but they said "if you don't show you will be considered a no show and we won't allow you to see other girls"... in the end I didn't go and guess what I tried to see Sabrina and they said "sorry you no showed on a girl we can't offer you an appointment and hung up"

I wanted to write a review but as you can imagine that wouldn't really be fair to put that on the girl...

ACK!

Under TER's review rules, they won't approve a review of a girl that you do not get to have a session with, REGARDLESS of the circumstances.  You may not like it, but that is what this discussion board is for, as an alternative.  There is just no other way, besides Emailing your friends.

Received a call from Kim at BDJ.  She asked around and, as luck would have it, found out that there was miscommunication about the location of the provider.  She said that she understood that I didn't know where to go so all is well.  I am no longer banished!  She even offered an apology which was very nice.  I like BDJ so I was upset with what happened.  I am glad they stepped up on the customer service end.

Good Job!!

OK guys, strikes over, call those BDJ girls!

to seeing a lady that is independent, well established and well reviewed!  We do it all ourselves so things don't slip thru the cracks and to make sure our clients get the best treatment possible.

You're absolutly correct! Reputations carry much weight, good reviews carry more weight. Broken links on web sites are sad, with that said, when are your links going to be completed :) I hope you take that as a compliment :)

Please send me the info to screen you and once you are verified I will be happy to email you some tempting pics....

Rebekkah, just an observation, but your website says you require 2 hours and are lowering it to 1.5/$450.00 for 1st time clients.  While this may be a good marketing tactic, I'd think a lot of guys will be hesitant to spend that much, especially in your case of totally sight unseen since you have NO photos published anywhere.

I've seen your reviews are all glowing and considered making a date with you, and maybe if it was one hour, the cost might be worth trying, but for $450.00 (after 11/1 according to your website) without any clue about you might be stretching it.  You should either post photos so there are no surprises, or set 1st time appts to 1 hour.   This is an expensive hobby, but forcing 1st timers into spending that much might be enough to choose other providers, most of whom share pics and 1 hour dates.  And while the argument can be made that privacy is important, this IS a visual business.  Matchups are made a lot based on physical attributes. There are ample ways to protect your privacy and still show enough of you to satisfy curiousity.

On the topic, I'd always select an indy with good reviews over an agency for a lot of reasons.  I'd rather the lady benefits from what she's doing, not sharing it with an agency.  Of course, some find it more convienient, or may not have the business acumen to deal with all the details.

I would be happy to email a few pics to you after you have been verified/screened.  At this time, because I have such limited availability NOT having pics on my site works to my advantage and to my clients advantage too.  Reviews verbalize better what an image could never show.

Rebekkah:

Thanks for the comments.  I must admit that the independents I have seen generally worked out very well.  I have seen your sight and reviews.  I wish I could get a pic because you sound great.

Send me your screening info and I'll be happy to send you a few tempting pics after you have been verified.... check out my website for more info

The bottom line at BDJ is $$$. Most of the time Kim could care less about customer service. She's busy, the phones ring off the hook, and for every guy who's pissed off there are twenty others trying to book appointments. Now, if you're a regular and you have a problem, she may be inclined to listen to you. But the normal client just has to take what he gets, which means he often goes elsewhere and never comes back.

The only reason she can get away with it is that, for the most part, her girls provide excellent service. That, and the fact that the overwhelming majority of her clients are not TER members.

In a way it's kind of a shame, because she's really a pretty decent person. If you ever get a chance to talk with her when she's not putting out fires you'll find her very engaging.

I have to chime in here..

Using the excuse there are 20 more people waiting to book appts or the phones are ringing off the hook are not excuses for providing shitty service.  Even worse is the comment that if you're a regular, she might pay attention.  That seems to be a hard thing to BECOME a regular if you never make a first appt.

Common sense says if she's so busy, she should get help.  Regardless of where customers come from, this is one of those businesses that in the blink of an eye of an AG somewhere she can be out of business.  Pissing off clients because she's simply too busy to care is a really bad way to conduct business.

I've called a few agencies and the really bad ones I simply hang up on.  One guy answered the phone in what I could only call a gruff 'biker' voice.  When I said who I was interested in, he said 'dude, i'm really busy, can you call back in 15 min?' He then proceeded to hang up on me to get back to whatever was on TV I suspect.  Needless to say, I called elsewhere and never called them back.

This is an impulse thing and as it's such a personal experience, that first impression is very important.  Men answering phones have to be even more professional than women, and need to really make guys feel comfortable instantly.  It's like the wife sending the guy to the store to buy tampons, no matter how you color it, it's not a fun experience.   That's how some of these guys make you feel when they answer the phone in something less than a friendly voice.

Anyone in this hobby for any length of time has had bad phone experiences, but my guess is those calls are never returned and we all simply move on to find that nice voice on the other end of the phone we actually want to shell out the kind of cash this hobby requires.

It's good (I guess) to know that I am not alone with my experiences.  I thought I would share what happened because this is many things, including a marketplace.  Bad press may cause people to make another choice.  Customer service creates good will that retains clients.

I have read through the entire thread that was posted as of today.  Surprised on your experience with BDJ.  I have always found them to be one of the better ones to deal with.  Just my opinon and experience.
