I hate to admit..I have been..it was back in Boston when I first started and was working for a very well known agency... they did not check people..they went on "their gut" I was naive enough to think I was safe..this was one of the big reasons I went indie..because I get to speak directly to the clients..and if I screw up its on me...I wont go into the things I found out they routinely do to catch girls..had I known then what I know now I would have been able to notice something was up..hindsite is always 20/20..unfortunately..thats why I now do things much differently..and I will not under any circumstances discuss money once I've arrived..I have even walked out the door when a client asked me " how much is it again" some people really dont understand thats a big no no..they (clients) want to double check if its the first apt with you they want to make sure they have the right amount..but you cant do that ever...i hate to say but I was schocked at the # of girls caught..just because an agency does not check...their are even clients that will make an apt just to know where you are to drop a dime..then they sit outside and watch..they get off on it...that never happened to me..but I have seen it...a backround check is never 100% sure..I really feel refernces is the only way to be really sure...but I would not put it past LE to make a fake reference just to catch someone..so I like the reference to be someone I've heard of...as i said nothing is 100%..thats why I love my regulars....

Why did it happen to them ?

They didn't do a background check , they thought just because the client has an out of state cell phone , then he is ok .

They got desperate and let their guards down .
