I am wondering how many hobbyist and ladies get regular therapeutic massage?  I am referring to a non sensual massage for relaxing, injuries, or pain.

Would it be inappropriate for a therapeutic massage to be advertised on hobby boards and directories?  How would you know the difference?

Sabra

"I give Non Sensual Massage and my clothes are on.  No seriously, I give a good, old fashioned massage.  Stop laughing!  That's what I do! No HJ, No BJ, No FS."

(In other words if you put an ad up here you'd have to be very very clear.)

If you hang out on this board and chat with us as someone interested in the hobby or someone who enjoys talk on various sexual issues and we got to know you...  someone might want a good old fashioned massage from you without extras.  Otherwise I don't think this would be a successful advertising arena.  Others disagree?

so I don't really need one from the ladies. I find it more fun if I give the ladies a full body or back massage. LOL

in agreement with Jockeypants here

The ad would be out of place on this board. As stated in the original post, "how would you know the difference?". This would undoubtedly lead to a hobbyist who expects more and would not be satisfied with the lack of service.

Sabra, I work at night as a medic. I am sure you understand the kind of stress that goes with a job like that. Massage has long been known to the medical community as a wonderful way to heal/treat stress (above all) depression, and to help in the recovery of problems like  accidents or use of casts/splints after a bad accident.

I think what you want is the work of a TRAINED and board certified "provider" (if you will...that was suppose to be funny...please laugh here...)

Check in at any YMCA. Most have several certified in this art form. While I find the company of woman a great comfort (they have a soft, gentle touch) I usually go to a man when I really hurt or need the "deep down" treatment. They are much stronger then woman in general. Also check with your local MD. Usually they have someone that they send a pt to on a regular time frame.

Most will charge about 25-35 for 1/2 session. Some a tad bit more for 1hr.  Its up to you.

If you have problems with stress, hypertension, depression, or have been injured in an accident. GO GET A MASSAGE! You are gonna love the way you feel after. Be warned about the following side effects:

1.  This is habbit forming. One should not feel this good  and not be naked...
2. It does get expensive. If you do not have relief in a few good sessions, see your doc or your ciropractor.....
3. I use my man about twice a month. It is just something I need to control depression/stress. Always remember rule one.......

There is only one other thing in the medical community that can deal with stress/depression more..........

Guess what that is??????????? Yep, from a medical point of view...sex is the best healer of all. It will put into the blood system a natural drug called endorphines (spelling) that are more powerful than most class 1 drugs. That is why some simply go right to sleep after a good hour or so of mind numming sex.... It is natural to do so...........sex also aids in weight loss. More so in woman then in men.  AS for me....I need to lose about 70lbs.......have any ideas on who could help me??????????

You need to shift to a high protein and unsaturated fat diet, with low carbs. A can of tuna is 33g of protein, no fat, no carb, so you need to eat a lot of that if you can stomach it. Egg whites are also a good source of protein. You can also go for some low-carb protein shake to substitute for meals. You really need to track your caloric intake and not go more than 1200 cals/day (this is drastic, better have a high fiber diet so you wont feel hungry). You need to work out and develop some muscles. Muscles burn 3X more calories than body fat. If you have more muscles, you will burn calories 3X faster even while you are sleeping. This is why a high protein diet is important while you lift weights, so you will keep your muscles. Now you have to do 3X - 4X a week of cardiovascular exercise. Run on a treadmill for about 30-40 minutes at 4-5 mph.  There are some sports supplements that can help increase your metabolism, but in my experience caffeine and green tea revs up the metabolism (damn, they ban ephedra - that was a good fat burner). Never miss any meals because your body will try to survive if you don't give it food and it will automatically slow down your metabolic rate. So, you need to eat 6X a day but eat no more than 200 calories.  It's kind of hard to do, but as I said - this is my formula for losing 30 lbs. in 2 months. In the last 3 years, my weight has gone back up by only 10 lbs. max, but I could loss it easily once I do cardio and shift to high protein diet.  Good luck.

you have EXTREMELY energetic sessions. That's 140 sessions to lose 70 lbs. At Mathesar's computed average rate of 335, that would be nearly 47k. That's an expensive weight loss program! But a very, very satisfying one!

I have a therapeutic massage every other Saturday ... it has relieved my carpal tunnel syndrome and mild arthritis without drugs or surgery. Do a search for American Therapeutic Massage Assocition and look for certified providers near you - and proper rules of etiquette too. This is not the place!

I get therapeutic massage 1x/month, more in the winter. I can tell you that it would be wonderful to find something inbetween a great therapeutic massage and a bit more.  Often those who offer a bit (or much) more give only ok massages.  THose who offer on massages bring me to the point of then wanting a bit more...I want the cake and to eat it!

I was curious if any CMT ever advertise on the boards. Sounds like it is discouraged.

Sabra

yes...I experienced it once looking for a great massage and 'more'.  THe massage was good but then it was a lame HJ after about 5 minutes I said "thank you but it's not working".   If you advertise on the boards, I think it implicit that something 'more' is offered and you should be as up-front as possible in this venture.  There are a few who offer massage w/o FS.  Use TER search for massage or even (dare I mention it on TER?) look at eros-your city and study the advertisements for those who just give massage.  But remember, deep tissue is not all that is expected if you advertise in these places.
