It certainly would seem "hit and miss" so I could see why you wouldn't want to waste your time if you've had bad luck when responding to these in the past.  Ultimately, it comes down to the quality of the guy making the request.  And, out of respect, the guy should always put in some basic criteria, unless he is TRULY open to seeing any type of lady (so someone who isn't his type at all doesn't waste her time).   I've actually never made this type of post myself, mostly for that reason - though I have been tempted once or twice after a last minute cancellation.

But despite your frustrations with some guys that were time-wasters, I'd still have to guess that some of these do work out in the end for a lady and guy - which does put money in a lady's pocket that wouldn't have been there otherwise.  But I also suppose that it's somewhat inevitable that with ISO scenarios that a guy could slow play one lady to see if someone he would prefer more would come along.  And I have no doubt that that would be very frustrating to deal with.

And yes, you were very polite and calm, and articulated your concerns very well.
