First, I have had my pre-diner libations, so I am not at my best. Second, I have to turn off the computer for the night so this is being done quickly with only one fast proof read.

Now. don’t judge it until you read it.  I said that I can present a respectable theory, not proof. Tell me why this is not respectable line of thought.

As I said, I don’t believe he is Moslem.  In fact, I don’t know what any one is in terms of religion because I don’t know what they really believe.  

I think it is funny that Obama lived a life very much like mine, devoid of religion, until he needed a political base and then he discovered a church.  If you read his biography, you do not find him attending church in Hawaii, or at Occidental, or at Harvard.

That said, under what theory could Obama be called a Moslem?

First, there are many respectable definitions of members of ANY ethnic group.  “Blacks” are one example.  Even though he is “half white,” no one would quibble with someone who said Obama is the first "Black" president (excluding the figurative Bill Clinton).  

The same applies to religion.  Am I a Jew?  I have cultural leanings in the direction.  My parents were Jewish.  But I am not religious, and haven’t been to temple in 30 years, except to attend weddings and funerals.

Nonetheless, there is a view that if your parents, and particularly your mother is Jewish, you are Jewish, at least in terms of legally being allowed to emigrate to Israel.  Also, although I have no “religious” views, in 30 years no one has corrected me if I said I was Jewish.  I don't think it is irrational when someone says I am Jewish.

Now, the respectable theory for Obama that I promised.  One theory, held by one billion people is that if your father is a Moslem, you are a Moslem.  This is the Islamic view.  Not GOP. Not Armenians. Not Buddhists.  

In fact, this causes some consternation on the part of Moslems.  One reason why many fundamentalist Moslems hate him is that he is worse than a Jew or a Christian.  Being a non-believer is bad enough.  But being an apostate is the worst. He is an apostate, being born a Moslem, in their view, and abandoning it.

Unless you are willing to say that the view of all Moslems is an irrational and racist belief, I have presented a respectable theory under which it is reasonable to say that Obama is a Moslem.

Last time: I am not saying I think so. My test is what people believe, and I can’t judge.  This is only one theory where one could rationally call him that.
