Traveling to Toronto on business not pleasure never been any recommendations on a kick as hotel downtown ie Carlton in NY?

Cambridge Suites is a boutique-y kind of place I've always been fond of. Right on Yonge and Richmond, IIRC.

Thompson is further west, along Kind in the entertainment district.

I would recommend Le Germain. Small, intimate, and in the heart of the entertainment industry near some great restaurants.

Obviously boutique hotels are great if you are looking for a non-generic stay, but if you plan to see anyone while you're here, the little hotels like Cambridge, Germain and Windsor Arms are small enough that their staff is watchful. If you intend to meet with ladies, stick to the bigger locations. More anonymous.

Hence, business, not pleasure but good to know

Le Germain is great.
The Ritz Carleton just opened recently as well.
