Denver traded Tebow to the Jest for a 4th-round draft choice. It will be curious how he fits in with that circus, especially since one of the Jets players (Cromartie) has already said on Twitter that they don't need Tebow. Very interesting, to say the least.
What annoys me the most about Tebow isn't his lack of quarterback skills at the NFL level. It's all of the dumb fans who think Tebow has a direct connection to God.
Now the Jets are trying to back out of the trade because they didn't read the fine print of Tebow's contract until after the trade was announced.
with the acquisition-Now it's instant QB controversy-Don't get it from the Jets standpoint-They just extend Sanchez 5 years for 40 mill and then get Tebow-Sanchez is no prize in my view, but why the extension and apparent vote of confidence and then get TT? It's soap opera time in Jetland-this looks like a locker room disaster already....
I don't think I have ever seen a player who has the following of Tim Tebow. It obviously has nothing to do with his NFL skill set because basically he is at this point a mediocre QB at best. But he has millions of fans who religiously (no pun intended) root for him. They care about his every move. Couple that with the constant media attention thrust upon him daily and he is a one man show. Fans show up at games just to watch him.
The Jets have created a disaster. The first bad pass Sanchez throws (heck, it may even happen in training camp) and there will be fans immediately yelling to put Tebow in. Sanchez's mind was already fragile after last year and now you give him the popular Tim Tebow looming in the background. The Jets are trying to spin this as Sanchez is our clear cut starter and all we want Tebow to do is come in and run a few plays a game in unique formations. Come on. There are many NFL players you could have brought in to do that. You didnt need Tebow. He was brought in as a way of getting the Jets back in the New York headlines. Hey, at least they succeeded in doing that.
